What to do and see in Majorca, Balearic Islands: The Best Cultural Tours

October 27, 2021 Alida England

The dreamy island that provided inspiration to Chopin and Miró now has a reputation as a spring break beach destination. Don't worry, though, if you're vacationing over elementary school spring break-- there's plenty for the younger crowd. Marineland's dolphin and sea lion shows and children's beach attract families. And if you have a Thomas-obsessed toddler, the antique train that travels between Palma and Soller is a must-see.

It was a great way to see many of Palma´s attractions and their history. We were a little bit scared at the beginning because it was the first time we used a Segway, but our guide, Jane, teached us how to use it very fast. All the time she was checking if we are ok and also giving us useful tips to be sure that we won´t crush along the way, thing that made us feel very secure. Beside all of this, it was a great experience to learn about the history of Palma and to feel the breeze of the see riding a Segway. We will try the tour other time with other friends for sure!

Mallorca is quiet in the year of COVID-19, but I wanted my partner to see some of this beautiful island. We hired electric bikes from the team at Call & Ride and they were great. Fun, funny and very helpful, we were mounted on our electric bikes with instructions on how to use them (and, by the way, they are amazing) and navigate the roads and bike lanes of Palma. Within 10 minutes we were on our way around the city and Palma Bay. Thoroughly recommend these guys. Inexpensive, open late and just plain accommodating. Give them a go.

This bike tour was the highlight of our stay in Palma de Mallorca. It helped that we had a beautiful day. Our guide was friendly and so knowledgable. The pace was just right. Our group ranged from 40s to 60 year olds. Everyone kept up without a problem. The best part was a convent we visited where we got to order cookies from a nun that we couldn't see. A little door opened, we ordered, the cookies came out on a Lazy Susan where we placed the money for her to collect. The bikes were in great shape. We highly recommend this tour.
