Two thousand years of history have lent Mainz a cosmopolitan air, and museums and cathedrals of various architectural styles dot the city. Bring home a book as a souvenir—Gutenberg worked here, and the museum dedicated to him is a highlight.

This Church is a huge monument and is easily visible from many places within Mainz. Located on the central Kaiserstrasse (Kaiser Street), it has beautiful fountains on the front. Very quiet, serene place. Good for some solitude and reflection time.

U have to take the time and search for the ruins, but once you're there, it was worth your time. It's a very impressive monument, which awakens the horrors of war: the ruins of an old church bombed in the 2nd World War. It's open to the public and free of charge. The exhibition inside guides you through a journey back in time, to the moment it was built, to the history of the patron Saint up to the time of WWII. A moving experience!
