Waterrock Knob is part of the Plott Balsams mountain range in western North Carolina. At mile marker 451.2 on the Blue Ridge Parkway there is a great stop with a National Park Service Visitor Center that is open seasonally. It features a large parking lot with great views all around, restrooms and hiking trails. We enjoy hiking so we took the trail to the top but the view isn’t any better from what you see in the parking lot. It is paved for the first half and then turns to a dirt trail. The trail isn’t overly technical but I wouldn’t wear flip flops. It is also pretty steep; especially the paved part. The summit of the trail is 6,273 feet above elevation and is the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The visitor center is small but has a station for stamping a NPS passport, maps, an assortment of gifts and food and drink. There are also displays about the area and wildlife. We picked up Junior Ranger packets for the kids to complete. Waterrock Knob is a great stop on the Parkway and was one of the highlights of our trip.

Been twice for a Deep Tissue massage. They do excellent work and really listen to where you want the massage to be focused. Other places just do their normal routine no matter what you say but Maggie Valley Wellness Center really listened to me.

I am not a wine connoisseur by any means, but Chris' Pink Moscato wine was the best I have ever had. It was sweet, but not too sweet, and incredibly smooth with not a bit of bitter aftertaste. The dark chocolate kiss palette cleanser was an extra bonus since I am gluten-free. The selection is respectable and the shop is as cute as can be. This is a definite destination if you visit Maggie Valley

What is it all about? Our themed rooms are physical adventure games in which you search for clues and solve puzzles. Sixty minutes in a room sounds like a long time until the pressure starts building to solve all of the clues. You have two goals in our rooms-solve the mystery and get the exit pass to leave the room before one hour is up. Who should play? Our rooms are family friendly and can accommodate groups from 2 to 12 people, ages 7 to 95. Bring your family, your group of friends, your co-workers, or any other people who can think quickly and with whom you can communicate easily. Each time a clue is discovered, it puts the team one step closer to solving the final mystery. Can you beat the time needed to put you on the leader board?
We were pleasantly surprised at the extra thought and trickery placed in their own twist on escape rooms. The couple running the business are very friendly and enjoyable to talk to besides providing a fun event. We wish we had gone sooner on our visit - we would have gone back if time allowed.

One of the most beautiful waterfall areas we have ever visited! Will have to go back when we have more time and can go down to the water.
