We took a lovely little afternoon drive up to Cape Hillsborough National Park. Magical little spot with amazing lookouts covering every angle of the coast and out to Wedge Island which was a stunning walk but make sure you look out for the tides when you walk over! Picturesque forest walks, caves and you will see heaps of kangaroos ( the best time is early morning) “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

We parked the car at Iluka Park and followed the path to the boat ramp. Nice, wide pathway with lots of rest areas and information boards along the way. A new looking toilet block is located at the boat ramp end of the path.

We took our alpine out there twice for a week at a time each in Aug and Nov. Pretty cute drive up the range to eungella. As long as you are prepared to drive slow over the corrugations, it is worth it. They are currently grading the road and it is better than bitumen up to the crediton state forest turnoff. The grading should be finished in a couple of weeks. (The crediton state forest road is black soil and we got the bus bogged last time so get back to the eungella dam road quick if it rains if you dont have 4wd!). The dam camping is great with plenty of bird life. Toilet facilities are brand new. Heaps of bins for rubbish and we actually found a $109 camp oven in one that someone threw out!! No online booking, fill outa form and put money in a slot. Internet ok near the stump at the tiolet block. If you camp on the eastern side you will get the wind ( bloody gale on some days!!) but you get more space to yourself as most people camp down on the western/north western shore to get away from the wind. We had 4 days gale, 2 days breeze, 1 day dead calm. Plenty of little fish on the shore line and mussels for bait. Nice sized in deeper water. Great view of mountains as well. It is a pity people leave so much rubbish though so expect to see great northern bottle caps at your camp. Cheers. The Minnow
