Jordan Hollow Stables

My husband i visited during our vacation to the shenandoah Valley. We were both rather nervous, but the team did a wonderful job at making sure we were comfortable. We did the walk and trot, which was amazing!!! I highly suggest it. The team even provided us private ride. My husband is a pretty big guy, and they made sure he had a horse the would fit him. He feel absolutely in love with Tonto and couldn't stop talking him on our drive home. I had Colorado, who was his brother. It was definitely a match made in heaven. I highly suggest adding them to your agenda when in the area. And bring cash, because you are definitely going to want to tip. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and ensure you are comfortable the whole ride. We will see definitely be back.

Luray Caverns

Discover Eastern America’s largest and most popular caverns. 4,000,000 centuries in the making, this “must see” U.S. Natural Landmark is noted for the profuse variety of formations and unsurpassed natural color. One hour tours from well-lighted, paved walkways lead visitors through cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10 stories high. Enormous chambers are filled with towering stone columns, shimmering draperies and crystal-clear pools. Also in this subterranean wonderland, “hear rocks sing” as you experience the haunting sounds of the world’s largest musical instrument, The Great Stalacpipe Organ. Completely unique are the beautiful tones created by this one-of-a-kind instrument, which makes music of concert quality from the surrounding stalactite formations covering more than three acres.

My best friend was there 30 years ago with her parents and couldn't wait to bring her son and me and my daughter there to see it and as soon as we went down the steps into the cavern, I was in awe of the beauty that this natural wonder is. Our tour guide, Phillip, was a very knowledgeable and friendly young man that answered every question we asked and even have us some great ideas for where to hike in Shenandoah Valley when we asked him. The food concessions were very reasonably priced and tasty and the prices in the gift shop were surprisingly reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Big Meadows is aptly named. There is a great visitor center and store on one side of the road, and a vast flat meadow to stroll through on the other side. Plenty of parking; we found a space even on a busy Saturday in October. At about halfway through the park, this is no-brainer for a stretch of the legs.

I could spend hours here. Great place for families to reconnect, and teach their youngen’s, about a clean, fun family show full of humor, excitement and The General Lee. The gift shop is abundant with a variety of options, including a huge selection of hats, tshirts, stickers, license plates and more. Then head over to the museum, that is free, to watch episodes of the show, get an up-close view of Cooters garage, Boss Hogs car, Daisy’sJeep and more. You can even climb inside of the General Lee outside !!

Hawksbill Brewing Co

The five of us were on vacation over Thanksgiving and decided to give this a try. We shared a flight of the seven on tap varieties available plus they had non-alcoholic root beer which my really son enjoyed. At the time they had a coffee stout and a red ale which I enjoyed. There was a great variety of people there from the hipsters to the older crowd. The staff was very pleasant, quick and helpful... would definitely return the next time we're in the area.

We booked a rafting trip with SRO and had a great time. The staff was nice and helpful guiding us through the check in process and giving us advice. Our rafting trip was fantastic, we had our 6 and 10 yr old daughters with us and they loved it especially going over Compton Falls. If we go back to the area we would definitely do another trip with SRO.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

Reviewed By 688joanj

We stayed at Jellystone Luray the mountain view sites. The view offered a nice view of the mountain. There were a lot of activities to do at the camp site. We enjoyed candy bar bingo. The pools were open with 2 hour time slots, due to Covid. The water slides were not open. But our girls enjoyed the jumping pillow. Their swings are study enough for older ages to enjoy the swings, and merry fo round. The people at check in were friendly, as well as the workers int he store. You have to buy fire wood from there, you can not use your own. But over all it was a fun time. On a down side we had no internet service, which can present a problem when strying to sign up for pool times. We als o enjoyed the ice cream shop, but because of Covid you have to place your order at the window, and they bring it out. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, and so could the laundry area. But we enjoyed it and would go again after Covid restrictions.
