We often walk through the park down to the sea wall and back again Recently a WW1 memorial has been constructed which we found very moving and evocative 'All the brothers were valiant all the sisters were virtuous'

Would definitely recommend Africa Alive. The park has a great collection of animals and a clean environment. Highlights included the Amazing African Animal show and the lemur walk through which both enable you to get up close and personal with the animals. I Recommend bringing your own food as there are limited facilities for eating and not a great range of options for gluten free.

Just a lovely walk under mature trees. Well kept pathways. Grandchildren love it. Especially the little ruined stone summerhouse which they think it a castle. Imaginations running wild!

Carlton Marshes lies in the Waveney Valley at the southern tip of the Norfolk Broads. This Suffolk Wildlife Trust nature reserve is a mosaic of marshland habitats and supports a wide variety of wildlife including marsh harrier, water vole and fen raft spider.
So the new visitor center looks nice we took the scenic walk as we have many times but from the new car park and grassed area. It is a stunning part of the world, the walk out of the car park and on to the marshes takes you across a water meadow and over to an pathway that boarders Oulton Broad. It is so tranquil and idylic. There are lots of birds from Heron to Hobby and other hawks. Just great, well worth the visit, there is not a firm footpath all the way but its not a struggle, just lovely.

Visited as we walked from Carlton Marshes and ended up stumbling into the park about 20mins later. Lots of lovely scenery to look at, countless benches to sit and have a picnic or just watch the swans and boats going by. Lowestoft Museum is in the middle of the park but we didn't go in (not sure if it was open currently but it's listed as free to enter). Also free toilets, always welcome! There are a few different circular paths to take round here so you can spend an hour or so enjoying it, or just wander round where all the boats are.

Somerleyton Hall is one of the finest Victorian Stately homes in the country. The hall and its surrounding 12-acre gardens are located on the Norfolk-Suffolk border. Lord and Lady Somerleyton open their doors to the public from Easter to September. Inside the house there is a pastiche of styles from high Victorian splendour in the chintz ballroom to the dark Jacobean Oak Parlour and the charming library with beautiful bookcases. There are many fine portraits of the Crossley family through the generations, tapestries, the famous Polar bears and the silver dining room service. An expert team of guides bring the fabulous hall to life with history tours that run throughout the day. Somerleyton Hall is also home to one of the finest yew hedge mazes in Britain, planted back in 1846. The route out is around 800 yards from the centre, but most visitors find it takes rather longer to solve the maze’s mysteries. A walled garden features beautiful and ornate iron and glass greenhouses designed
The maze was really good fun! . The rooms are well dressed in a variety of styles and the hall retains a family atmosphere as the current lord na d Lady Somerleyton are young and have young children. This makes the place living.
