Zupanova jama cave

In the vicinity of a small town of Grosuplje, around half-way to castle Turjak, lies the underground karst cave Županova jama cave. Formed trough millennia of running underground water, the cave was discovered by a local mayor in 1926 and is thus called The Mayor's Cave. Today you are welcome to visit seven underground chambers, richly decorated by flowstone forms.

Visited the cave on 2nd January. Hidden gem in the middle of the forest, 1000 steps all around. Great guide, interesting information and stories (German movie Vinetoe and slovenian movie Kekec were also filmed in the cave). You can see a lot of bats (small and big), hanging really near you. Also some other cave animals. All in all, great cave, even greater guide! I recommend to visit (it takes about 1 and a half hours).

Loved it! Staff were great! The treatments were worth every penny and 1/2 what you would pay in the states! Best pedi Ive ever had! Spa is right next to hotel Balnea so super easy access plus pools are free with hotel stay. They do have a nude area but it is upstairs and private. Treatments may be a bit shocking if your shy but they allow for American inhibitions:) Cant wait to return! Had a wonderful and relaxing time!!

We really love Terme Čatež as they are one of few thermal Riviera's with warm water inside and outside which is perfect for late summer and fall getaways. Also I would like to comment on excellent food in Hotel Terme!
