What a lovely surprise. He showed and explained the markers for the Fátima and St James pilgrimage trail. Both going through Conimbriga. We highly recommend this tour by Xavier.

Hidden by mountains of leafy vegetation, the magical world of schist villages is still a closely guarded secret whose inhabitants like to help unravel. Its friendly people and with time to welcome those who visit them, show us customs and customs, gastronomic delicacies and artisan knowledge. This preserved territory also has castles that seem to come out of fairy tales, or monuments and museums that testify to what life was like many years ago. But much of its charm lies in its pure nature, in the crystal-clear river beaches where we can spend moments of relaxation, and in the green forests that are discovered on foot, following the “Shale Paths”. Come on in and discover with us this enchanted place!
Inclusions: Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle, Bottled water, Snacks, Personal accident and liability insurance

We went with Aventuras Forte-s to the Serra de Brasfemes with the goal to find fossils. Not only we found them, but Sergio, who is so passionate about it, came with some rare samples to show us (and carried them just to educate us) ;-) But it is finally Fatima, our second tour guide, who found most of the fossils (and offered them to us). We could not hope for more, one guide with historical details and the other guide with sharp eyes to find plenty of them. This was a wonderful experience, that we can only recommend if you are in the Coimbra area. We cannot wait to do a new adventure with them in the near future. Thanks again.

The villages of Shale have already been dubbed "magical villages," their names sound like Romans, Arabs and even barbarians, but it is their characteristic appearance that makes them so fantastic. During this adventure we will take you to know some of the most beautiful villages of Shale of Serra da Lousã as well as the sweeping landscapes that this unique place has to offer ...

After pick up at your hotel in Coimbra, we will go to Serra da Lousã. We will visit the Schist Villages, a group of small shepherds' villages scattered around the mountains. We will start with Cerdeira, with its chapel, a wooden bridge next to the fountain and its houses perfectly integrated into the landscape, thanks to the schist stone that was used in its construction. We will pass through the village of Candal to go through its narrow streets and in Talasnal we enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the Serra de Lousã. In all the villages we travel between shale houses, oaks, cork trees, narrow alleys, streets and small trails. We will return to the hotel in Coimbra after a visit that looked more like a trip to our rural ancestor.
Inclusions: All taxes, fees and handling charges, Driver/guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transport by air-conditioned minivan, Bottled water
