Atmosphere: large shady lawns with comfy couches; tables and chairs near tasting room Service: friendly Wine: excellent. We especially liked the 2017 barrel aged Pinot noir. These are quality wines - recommend sharing them with family and friends who truly appreciate fine wines. Be aware: reservations required for tastings; however, wine may be purchased by the bottle or glass without a reservation.

Established in 1973, Zaca Mesa is a family-owned and operated winery with a long-standing history in Santa Barbara County. As the first vineyard to plant Syrah in the area in 1978, Zaca Mesa has since helped pioneer the Santa Barbara Rhône movement through an unwavering dedication to Syrah and Rhône varietals. Combining traditional old-world winemaking practices with innovative farming and vineyard techniques, Zaca Mesa continues its legacy as a producer of high-quality California Rhône-style wines that are true reflections of the vineyard and appellation. Definitely recommend zaca Mesa for wine tasting in the Santa Ynez valley. Love their vognier and rose. A must do.

My sister and I were visiting vineyards in the area and a lady suggested we go to this lavender farm. We are so glad we did. We had a wonderful visit with the owners and bought some of their lavender products. Great visit and I highly suggest a visit, you’ll be glad you did.

We are a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. Three generations of farming, and two of winemaking. 7,500 cases of wine annually, split between 25 different wines. All wines released seasonally and sold 100% direct-to-consumer via our Tasting Room in Los Olivos, CA, online, and through our Wine Club. The tasting room is open 364 days a year!
Here during Covid but the back patio was beautiful, plenty of room. Girl serving us was very knowledgeable and we didn’t feel rushed. We ended up buying 2 bottles, a white and a red. Also bought 2 of their wine glasses, $5 each and a T-shirt. Great area to walk around

Situated on the celebrated Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. Visit our Estate Vineyard with picnic areas and unique private event spaces.
We have greatly enjoyed visiting Koehler over the past several years. Dan, the Wine Man is a hoot and always welcoming. This is a great place to take a picnic - the grounds are beautiful - there is plenty of room to move around and lots of tables and picnic benches. (A good place to visit in COVID times.)

100% Estate Grown wines crafted on the limestone hills of Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara County. After 20 years of revolutionary viticultural experimentation, the Stolpmans are proud to present their unique offering of Rhone Varietals - including Syrah, Grenache & Roussanne.
All of the staff here are extremely attentive and friendly. The wine tasting here was much nicer than the bigger, well known tasting rooms (generous pours, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere). It felt comfortable and safe sitting outdoors and an added plus with all of the fun dogs.

We love this vineyard. They are dog friendly (as long as your dog is leashed and well-behaved). We totally enjoyed our time there and their tasting area is beautiful with a wonderful view. They have plenty of different choices and we came away with six wonderful wines. One warning: the entrance off of Foxen Canyon is 2 miles from the actually winery...and the road is narrow in many spots. Be daring, travel the road to a wonderful vineyard! We'll be back!

Beckmen Vineyards is known as one of North America's premier producers of Rhone varietal wines since our establishment in 1994. A family owned and operated vineyard and winery, we use estate grown fruit from our certified biodynamic Purisima Mountain Vineyard, located in the limestone laden hills of the Ballard Canyon AVA. We invite you to sample our distinctive wines at our rustic tasting room, nestled on the Beckmen Estate Vineyard next to our winery, just two miles south of Los Olivos. We specialize in Syrah and Grenache, as well as Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache BLanc, and Marsanne. We welcome visitors daily from 11am - 5pm. We're off the beaten track, but once you find us, you'll be rewarded with delectable wines, amazing views, and a wonderful winery experience!
Great wine tasting experience. Spent two hours and ended up a club member. Very impressed to see Mr Beckman working the harvest with his son. ????

Our Santa Ynez Valley winery tasting room offers one of the Central Coast’s most comfortable and comprehensive visitor experiences, including daily winery tours and extensive picnic facilities. Archive photos and other artifacts chart the Firestone family’s pioneering heritage, from turn-of-the-century tire innovation to the establishment of Santa Barbara County’s first estate winery in 1972. The recently remodeled tasting room features an island bar and picture windows that overlook our estate vineyards. We strive to offer an informative and welcoming atmosphere that will appeal to wine enthusiasts and novices alike. Our free daily tours guide you through the history of the winery, and through the production of fine wine from vine to glass. Tours begin at the demonstration cork tree and continue out into the estate vineyards. The winemaking process is then showcased from the crush pad to the fermentation cellar to the barrel cellar. Tours typically last between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of guests and depth of questions. Tours depart daily at 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
I just love visiting this winery so I was so glad to see they are very conscious of the virus. Tasting was in the patio with very good spacing, mask wearing, etc. Service was excellent as was their charcuterie platter which was plenty for 3 people. Reservations are a must as the number of guests are limited. It was nice to have a breeze on the patio in the hot weather. A great place to visit and try a variety of wines.

Passionately focused on Rhône varieties, Andrew Murray has consistently crafted highly acclaimed red wines and white wines in the Santa Ynez Valley for 20 years. His Viogniers, single-vineyard Syrahs, and blends led Robert Parker, Jr. to refer to AMV as, “…one of the shining stars in the Santa Barbara firmament.”
We both had a tasting flight. Most likely could have shared one. Wines were good. Purchased several whites, which I was low on in my inventory. Why does it always seem faster to get back to the freeway, than finding the winery from the freeway?
