Tommy John's specializes in large group and daily tours of wineries in the South Bay. Our goal is to provide the best wine tour and show you don't need to go all the way to Napa for great wine! We wanted to show people you can find some of the best wineries here in the Silicon Valley near San Jose, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill. What makes us different is all of our tours are all-inclusive! We take care of the round trip transportation, all tasting fee's, gratuity for wine/beer tenders, and lunches as well. You will absolutely love your tour with us, guaranteed!

This popular park is ideal for hikers, backpackers, and rock climbers, and perfect for day trips.
We went to Castle Rock State Park. This is a very popular park for hiking and also for climbing. We were there on a sunny day in the fall.

Byington offers a stunning, 95-acre, wine-experience getaway with expansive views of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey Bay, and Pinot Noir vineyards in the backyard of Silicon Valley. We craft award-winning wines in an 18,000-square-foot villa that houses winemaking facilities, wine cave, tasting room, and elegant event facilities. Taste, picnic, hike, and enjoy live music. Our Tasting Room is open to the public Friday-Sunday, 11am-5pm. We offer Wine Tour & Tastings and Barrel Tastings on Saturday and Sunday. We excel in Corporate Events all days of the week.
We had planned a Sonoma/Napa trip since April. The disastrous wildfires started while we were in Rohnert Park and we scurried back to San Francisco and San Jose – disappointed that our Wine Country trip was disrupted, but feeling much compassion and sympathy for the folks directly in the fire’s devastation. We found an awesome alternative destination near Los Gatos – Byington Vineyards & Winery. What a remarkable venue at the end of a rather challenging trip up Bear Creek Road. Our personal “Uber” driver Bob navigated a Dodge Caravan along the winding narrow road where there were more than a few places/turns where his fellow travelers were a bit white-knuckled. Byington has beautiful grounds and splendid views of the Santa Cruz mountains from their Wedding Hill. Bailey Garcia was the ultimate host in the tasting room and was truly knowledgeable about the wines on the tasting flight, as well as the history of Byington. Bailey even gave us a brief tour of the wine cave that made our day. Picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a Bocce Ball court are on the premises and if visiting on a Sunday, be sure to check out their live music offerings.

We went to Vasona Lake County Park. This is a fun place for a walk.... It was a bit different this time due to the virus. There is usually a lot of people having picnics as its Easter Sunday. But we still had a great time. Others were riding their bikes. it was also free to enter this time - usually there is a small fee (six dollars) to park there.

Oak Meadow park offers several activities, boccie courts, picnic grounds and fields for sports. You should make reservations for these facilities. Look for the website. The unusual aspect is the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad and the Carousel. The railroad winds around the park with a real steam locomotive and cars all at 1/3 scale. Operated by volunteers who love what they are doing there is always time for questions about trains and Billy Jones who constructed the railroad on his property and operated it there for many years before it was moved to Oak Meadow Park. For those who enjoy a real carousel- this is the place. Both stationary and moving animals take the circle ride into adventure- good for all ages.
