Tour movie studios, slip your hands into the famous prints at the TCL Chinese Theatre, or indulge in a celeb sighting at one of LA’s white-hot nightspots. Spot your favorite star while shopping at The Grove, or forget all about the famous eye candy as you take in the iconic artwork at The Getty Center. This a great way to learn about some Los Angeles' rich history and beautiful architecture. If you want to travel back in time, then visit Heritage Square and take their walking tour to do it. These homes are amazing from the outside and even better walking into some of their spectacular rooms filled with marvelous wooden works of art. Houses now a days aren't what they used to be.

Los Feliz

We began our visit to this delightful neighbourhood at the grand Mulholland Memorial Fountain after taking Bus 96 from Downtown to Riverside / Los Feliz. The fountain commemorates William Mulholland who designed and oversaw the 233 mile long aqueduct that brought water to a dry city over a century ago. We continued our stroll along the lovely winding roads. We saw Walt Disney's First House in LA and then continued to the marvellous Lovell Health House, from where there are panoramic vistas over the city. Ennis House is an architectural marvel. Designed by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright, it is well worth seeing. Along the way we gazed at Griffith Observatory, and taking a pathway we ended our morning there, enjoying the tremendous edifice and the attractions within.

Little Ethiopia

What a fantastic part of LA! I’ve driven through it a few times (like most LA peeps) but now I finally had a food excuse to stop! I visited back in late September as part of the #localadventurechallenge and wow - it’s just oozing with culture! We were there too early for lunch unfortunately, so I’ll definitely have to come back and try some of the interesting restaurants and food! I did grab an Ethiopian coffee at Paradocs (see my review!) and it was THE BEST!! I highly recommend checking out the area if you’re looking for something unique and culture-filled to do - something new to try that is “so LA” bc I really feel like LA is all about embracing the numerous, vibrant cultures that fill the city!

While many of the 1920s theaters have been turned into retail outlets, some still play films and others are still available for curious viewers.
