We had a group of 9 in port on a cruise ship and Mark tailored a private tour for us based on specific sights and activities we were interested in. He was very informative and knowledgeable and his pre-tour coordination and communication via email and text was superb. I would highly recommend Mark for a private tour when you visit Melbourne.

Holidaying at home this year, we researched and studied reviews widely before deciding to undertake a two day Great Ocean Road private tour with Acacia Luxury Private Tours. Booking was simple and efficient and Paul attended to every detail to make our journey just perfect even down to our preferred beverages and snacks in the vehicle. On the day Stuart collected us in a super comfortable and luxurious Mercedes Benz vehicle. Stuart grew up in the region and therefore was able to tailor the tour exactly to our desire. We wanted to see wildlife so he was able to take us to off road places where we were able to see kangaroos, koalas, emus and amazing birdlife in the wild. It exceeded every expectation. We could not have done it justice if we had driven ourselves. The whole journey is jaw-droppingly beautiful from the beaches to the rainforest and the unforgettable Twelve Apostles. All our meals and the luxury lodging in picturesque Port Fairy were perfect too. We definitely recommend the Great Ocean Road journey with the expert team at Acacia. Thank-you so much guys.

I did the 1 day tour. The great ocean road is an absolute must, but probably more justified to see it over 2 days. I just didn’t quite have the time to be able to do that. I liked the fact that this company specialise specifically for the great ocean road and the guide actually lives on the great ocean road. The week before I had chosen to do a winery tour with a different company, who sell tours to multiple destinations. That was not so good and the guide’s knowledge of the local area was severely lacking. I’ll stick with the destination specialists next time. Much better.

Henry gave us a great tour of Phillip Island, aided by some beautiful weather (thanks melbourne). He was a very knowledgeable guide and just a great guy to have to spend the tour with. We had a close family friend who warned us from doing a trip down to Phillip Island. They hated it. But the more I read up on the island, the more I realised that most other people that had visited the island, overwhelmingly had a positive experience. But now I understand why my friend hated it. They took a bus tour and when we compared notes on our tour, they described the places they stopped. Well they only visited 3 stops. We visited about 10 different locations and half of them were definitely not on the tourist map as we were the only ones there. But to be honest, these were my favourite stops. They were well away from the tourist buses and in fact probably not accessible to the buses as we went down some narrow roads. But the wildlife there was out of this world. So look, if you are going to to Phillip island at all, find out where you will be taken. How much value for money are you getting. Are the tickets included. Is there an advantage to taking a private tour. How well does your group mix with other people you have never met. Do you want to go and your own pace or happy to go at the pace set by the rest of the group. Do you want to be picked up from your hotel doorstep or are you happy to jump on a tram to meet the bus tour. Obviously these are not questions my friends asked before she booked her tour. So really, do your research people or you will just end up on a tour that isn’t right for you. There are lots of options so nobody out there should be licking the wrong tour for them.unless you are a lazy click and book person like my friend!

We took a walking tour with VIC rainbow tours, the day we arrived into Melbourne. We have been to Melbourne before but pretty much walked around aimlessly and mainly stuck to the shopping malls - we do love to shop! This walking tour was well thought out and gave us a better knowledge of getting around the city. We stopped at landmarks we would otherwise have just walked past, and being a LGBT guide, James gave it the slant that we were looking for. We also took a trip with him down the great ocean road - that’s certainly not to be misse.

We did the Philip Island and Great Ocean Road private tours with Andrew on 2 separate days and had a very enjoyable time! Andrew took excellent care of us, especially my parents-in-law who spoke only Mandarin - his Mandarin was fluent and he answered all our questions about wildlife, the Little Penguins, Great Ocean Road etc in great detail. He has deep knowledge of the history, culture and basically everything about Melbourne. He also gave us lots of food recommendations for the rest of our days in Melbourne. He’s the only tour guide we have liked so much that we are writing a review for him immediately after our tours. He’s that wonderful and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for private tours in Melbourne! He does a variety of tours and is always so responsive over Whatsapp and WeChat - just drop him a message directly and he will reply you within a few hours! Thank you Andrew for making our holiday so memorable! My parents-in-law are already saying they miss you and hope to see you again the next time we visit Melbourne!

Travelling on Victoria’s heritage-listed Great Ocean Road is one of the greatest road trips you can have in Australia. Our Great Ocean Road Private fully customiseable tour features amazing scenery, stories and wildlife in a leisurely drive that will have you gasping at every turn. This 244-kilometre-long stretch meanders through secret bays filled with rock pools, imposing sandstone cliffs, lush rain forests and deserted beaches. Dotted with quaint seaside towns, coastal walks and shipwrecks makes this region immensely popular. A highlight of the tour is visiting the Twelve Apostles, limestone karsts that rise majestically out of the water off the coast. We have a fleet of 9, 11 or 13 seater buses for your group and the price is for the driver/guide and vehicle, not per person. The larger the group, the better the value.
