The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Comfortable auditorium with armchair seating, good leg room. A bar that is in a classic style, 1960s, serving good wine and delicious looking cakes to have with coffee. Food can be ordered in from the nearby Italian restaurant as all tables have numbers. Thus, one can make an evening to enjoy with good wine, a decent size pizza and a great film to watch. There are two screens so choices to be made. Difficult? Not really all films shown here are chosen well.

In contrast to other large multiplex-cinemas in Leicester Square, this is a little gem of a theater tucked away around the corner of the busy square, which shows cult classics and modern movies at reasonable prices.
Excellent film that inspired our party of adults and 2 children alike. First documentary on large screen that these 13 and 9 year olds had seen and was thrilling for them to see the passion, focus, skill and preparation of the climber rewarded by success. Very conducive atmosphere in Prince Charles cinema to experience this true life story, together with those in the audience, this extraordinary film, laughing, ooo'ing and aaa'ing together in company with others; a welcome change from children's typical iPad obsession. Prince Charles has a real atmosphere of valuing cinema a experience; a smaller, less costly commercial version of the BFI in that respect.

It was lovely to end the day at the cinema after a long day of sightseeing. This particular cinema is the best and the most unique cinema I've ever been to. We sat in comfortable arm chairs and enjoyed the movie with candy from the cinema bar. It is also possible to buy wine, champagne etc. It's close to the famous Blue Door in Notting Hill. We bought tickets online the day before the show, and got the last tickets. We got lucky:)

Owned and operated by Ambassdor Theatre Group (ATG) the Phoenix was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and Bertie Crewe. It opened in 1930 with the premiere of Noel Coward's Private Lives starring the author, Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier. Many star actors have appeared at the theatre including Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, John Gielgud, Dustin Hoffman, Derek Jacobi, Kenneth Branagh and Stephen Fry. More recently the theatre has presented a number of successful musicals including, between 1991 and 2012, Willy Russell's Blood Brothers which became the theatre's longest-running show and was seen by over 5 million people. The theatre is now home to the award-winning Broadway musical Once.
I visited on 21/09/20, the 2nd Anniversary of the memorial plaque to David Cassidy, along with visits to the Phoenix Garden where David has a second plaque on the wishing wall, "I only Wanna make you happy" in addition to Dreams, wishes and Happy trails plaque, a visit also, to St Giles in the Fields Church, who hold a memorial book you can sign, in memory of David Cassidy and where candles are lit in his memory, twice a year with a memorial table display in remembrance. A Tranquil setting off of the busy Charing Cross Road, The Theatre, Church and the Garden, each have their own Unique History, to uncover.

BFI IMAX - The UK's Biggest Screen! The BFI IMAX is the biggest cinema screen in the UK: over 20 metres high and 26 metres wide! Seeing a film here is like nothing else - digital surround sound, a screen almost as high as five double-decker buses, 498 seats (including 89 Premier Seats), and that's just inside the auditorium. There's also a Costa Coffee Cafe, Ben and Jerry's and a Licensed Bar serving of alcoholic and soft drinks! The very latest IMAX films, some old favourites and educational films all add up to a really big experience.
Have visited more than once and each time there's a little improvement either in the cinema or the surrounding area which is being developed with eateries and bars making Waterloo a very nice place to rendezvous with the added bonus of the IMAX, a must for any blockbuster movie.

The Curzon Mayfair offers live performances and popular films.
We are used to visit the multiplex movie theatres without any character. Curzon Mayfair is what you can call an enjoyable movie theatre visit. They offer just two screens and the maximum capacity in both theatres is less than a hundred people. They have a bar in the foyer where you can order any kind of drinks, wines, beers, also cocktails. Inside the cinema are small tables between the seats, where you can place your drinks and snacks. Seats are extremely comfortable. Curzon Mayfair is one of the reasons why we love movie theatres.

Phoenix Cinema is one of the UK’s oldest purpose-built cinemas. Beneath the vaulted ceiling which dates back to 1910, the history of film has been shared with millions of audience members. From silent films with live music through two World Wars screening newsreels to digital projection today; the Phoenix has witnessed it all. Nowadays the Phoenix shows an interesting selection of European and arthouse films, and has a lively cafe offering drinks and homemade food.
This a beautiful single cinema complex said to be one of the oldest. Built in 1910. At East Finchley on Northern Line Loved the decor. Entrance to the auditorium is upstairs. There is a small cafe upstairs. Toilet downstairs. Small lift Perfect venue to see Downton Abbey.

A lovely, friendly, little cinema that is a true social enterprise. It supports an environmental, teaching organisation in South Africa and is staffed by local volunteers. You can buy wine, craft beers, a mug of tea, fresh popcorn, good quality snacks and watch great independent films...all in cosy comfort. We also watched an NT live showing of Antony & Cleopatra there. It was as close as we could get to having the big screen in our front room. It’s one of Kensal Rise’s jewels!

Affordable, fun and just awesome. I dream about spending an entire day there - starting with a coffee and a crodough, a blockbuster on the massive screen, a pie and a pint upstairs, and then an art house film in the lovely smaller screen that has a bar and comfy sofas. And pick-a-mix. Lots of pick-a-mix.

Two screen Cinema, private screening room, Members' Club and Cafe & Dining Room in Barnes, South West London. Currently closed to the public. Offering a takeaway service and pre-order afternoon tea offer.
Chef Andreas has really upped his game and put The Olympic well and truly on the Barnes food map. Probably the best lunch to date and here's why: • Chilled Roasted Cherry Tomato and Garlic Soup. Absolutely delicious. Perfect portion size and totally hit the spot. This was followed by a generous portion of; • Fresh Grilled Sardines with Samphire. Again, absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and spot on. To round off we had; • Strawberry Parfait served with Shortbread, Strawberry Sorbet and Mint. A Beautifully balanced dessert which was the best choice following the main course. I could not find fault. The whole lunch was exceptionally delicious. No need to mention the service. It's always excellent at The Olympic. Verdict: A perfect lunch Will I return: Yes Would I recommend it: Yes If you enjoy my reviews you can follow me on Instagram and Twitter @DansReview
