My wife and I took a two hour trail ride with wranglers Eric and Mia. They were both great and informative. The horses were friendly and well behaved. A great highlight of our vacation in Montana.

A few dozen feet up the hill from the Lolo Creek Steakhouse, is this distillery and tasting room. Absolutely spectacular views, a great outdoor seating area to include fireplace, friendly and well-informed wait staff, and a great set of products and specialized cocktails. Definitely "plan our travels around visiting this place" when we are in the area next.

Travelers' Rest State Park marks the crossroads of natural and cultural history. The 65-acre site includes the only archaeologically verified campsite of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, a traditional meeting place of Native American tribes including the Bitterroot Salish, and riparian habitat that is home to hundreds of species of birds and mammals.
The walking trails take you along the creek and back to where Lewis & Clark made camp twice during their quest to seek a route to the Pacific for trading. They have weekly ranger talks and cater to children on the weekends, giving them interactive projects to make while there. Highly recommend not only for the history behind the Park but for the scenery while walking the dusty trails. There is a visitor's center staffed with a State Forest Ranger who holds a wealth of knowledge of the area. There is a picnic area near the creek with tables. Bears frequent this area as well as deer and horn rimed owls. There is a fee for out of state residents, free to those living in MT

A 100-mile scenic drive.
My friend and I met some people at Grizzly Harley Davidson who recommended Lolo Pass. It was an awesome ride along the river for about 100 miles. The road was well maintained and there wasn't much traffic. There were plenty of paved pull offs to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There was a very nice rest area at the state line so we could get photos of both Montana and Idaho signs. We thought it was very interesting that only Montana warned motorcycles of the curves because they continued well into Idaho!! It was a great day but I would not recommend this full ride for beginners unless you take a few breaks along the way.

This is not an elaborate center but the historical content of this significant stop on the Lewis and Clark trail ( both going and returning) makes it a 5 star. Interesting exhibits and a very welcoming and knowledgable staff made it a great stop.

"We Built a Brewery" Since the very first step we took on this new adventure...our intent was undoubtedly simple! Keep our clients and community needs the utmost priority. We absolutely knew that we could only throw the stone in the river as far as our support would allow us.
Rustic atmosphere, dining inside or out, friendly staff, and their beers all make for this restaurant to be one of my favorites. Although the menu is not extensive as you would find in other restaurants, what they do have is excellent. I've tried several of their burgers and can say they are the best -- especially the bun! You can't go wrong stopping here after a day of hiking or fishing. Relaxed atmosphere.
The Outlaw Carriage Company offers classic horse-drawn transportation for public and private affairs. Whether you are relaxing on our custom-built wagon, or quietly cruising along on our open sleigh, our team of horses will pull you safely on your way. We provide private rides at the Purcell Ranch, located near Lolo, MT. We can bring the horses and vehicle to you for your special event. Enjoy!
