It's definitey worth the short drive out to Cunningham Crest from Laidley Town Centre, roughly six kilometres, from the lookout there are wonderful views over the Lockyer Valley. The best views are from the top rotunda at the lookout, walking up from the rotunda with a picnic table at the bottom, enjoy the artwork and regional information on the walls of the wooden walkway as you climb to the top (about 40 steps).

In 2017 the team behind the highly successful First Coat Festival in Toowoomba curated the Lockyer Valley's first large-scale mural project. The two installations complement the 70 plus contemporary public art installations of Toowoomba's CBD streets and laneways. Bronte Naylor’s mural at 54 Railway Street focuses on the connection between people and country and George Rose’s mural at the corner of North and Railway Streets, draws attention to the endemic flora and fauna found in the area.
