Nick Nairn Cook School now in it's 20th year, run by Scottish celebrity chef, Nick Nairn. Our cookery school offers the very best: in tuition, produce and facilities. We offer offer short 3 hour - 1 day classes, one to one sessions with Nick, private bookings, supper clubs and pop up dining events. Whatever you choose, we know you’ll be glad you spent the time with us.
Attended the Cook School for a half-day session on gluten-free cooking- spiced gnocchi with smoked haddock cream sauce followed by chocolate, pear & almond tart, amazing! Watched demonstrations from the impressive Nick Nairn himself before making the meal ourselves. Afterwards we enjoyed our 'creations' in the restaurant with great Menteith views. Enjoyable day with entertaining banter from our host (& very knowledgeable Carol) and fantastic cooking tips for recreating the dishes at home. Would definitely recommend!

The Visitor Gateway is open every day from 10:00am till 4:00pm between April and October. We close for the winter months (October till April) but you can still experience the sights and sounds of the Great Trossachs Forest NNR, by walking the way marked trails to see beautiful scenery and iconic wildlife. A range of paths from 30 minutes to 7 hours hillwalking are available, something for everyone. The Woodland Trust Scotland's Visitor Gateway at Glen Finglas estate features a range of information about our work to restore native woodland habitat. You can download an app to your tablet or smartphone to help you explore the area, find out more about our work on the estate, and pick up leaflets about other attraction in this stunning part of Scotland. Glen Finglas forms part of The Great Trossachs Forest NNR, one of the most significant woodland regeneration projects to take place in a generation, which stretches from just outside Callander to the shores of Loch Lomond.

Trossachs Distillery in Callander, Scotland, is the home of multi award winning McQueen Gin – the brainchild of Dale & Vicky McQueen. Established July 2015, McQueen Gin launched in June 2016, with 4 world first botanical gins – Sweet Citrus, Smokey Chilli, Mocha and Chocolate Mint. In November 2016 we launched our flagship gin – Super Premium Dry, which then went on to win Double Gold in San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2017. March 2017 we launched Spiced Chocolate Orange, the 6th gin in our core collection. Since then we have created many more gins, available in various supermarkets and our Distillery shop. Every batch created, is made with the same passion and commitment to excellence as the very first one. Please come and visit us https://mcqueengin.co.uk/distillery-and-tours/
Our family (5 adults) visited the distillery on Friday. The staff were great and even offered to come and collect us due to bad weather. Stuart gave us a tour of the distillery, followed by a tasting of various different gins with Vicki, one of the founders of the business. The distillery is the perfect size to get up close and see everything in action and it was fascinating to hear all about how Vicki & Dale have created the business in only 4 years. Would definitely recommend a visit. And the chilli gin with ginger beer!

Lady Kentmores is an Antique shop with a difference, we stock all those normal antique shop stalwarts from fine porcelain to jewellery but we also are proud to deal in the more unusual side of the trade too from shrunken heads and medical oddities to fairground antiques. This is because owner George Johnson ( TV antiques expert, writer & treasure hunter) has a mission to bring a bit of fun & showmanship to the antiques trade,Every corner of the shop is jam packed with items of curiosity and interest, it is because of this that the shop has featured on television and in the press many times. The shop has also made the finals of the BBC Home & Antiques Best Antiques Shop in the UK!That's not a bad recommendation to have.
This quirky antiques shop may just be my favourite thing about Callander! Yes it's small but it's crammed full of the most wonderful treasures, everywhere you look there's another quirky curio. The small museum, which only costs a measly pound entrance fee, is full of the weirdest items, from taxidermy to vintage medical items, a laughing chimpanzee to redcoat skulls. Absolutely fascinating! And to top it all off there's a Rob Roy display with a 20min video on a loop. Visit, it's not disappointing!

A unique place in Callander situated in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park selling over 130 different Scottish Beers by over 30 micro breweries from the Shetlands to the Borders. The largest selection of Scottish Real Ales under one roof. Our passion for Real Ale has long been established at the Lade Inn with our own exclusive house ales, but we wanted to take it one step further and become the central hub for all Scottish Bottled Ales. To make this dream a reality, we converted our old Microbrewery and the Scottish Real Ale Shop opened its doors for the first time in December 2006. We are a one stop shop for Scottish beer, Real Ale Festivals and brewing information; a place where you can purchase that elusive bottle from the Hebrides or that delicious blonde from Islay. We hold a Beer Festival every year and have tastings throughout the summer weekends so you can try before you buy!
Ordered a case of 12 different beers for delivery and am very happy with them, will certainly use this shop again. Hopefully will be able to get in and sample the restaurant on our next visit to Strathyre once lockdown is over!
