Great beginners surf lesson with Dave and Annabel, particularly for the children. The lesson was re-scheduled twice and moved to another beach to make best use of the conditions, with great communcation from the shop agreeing and informing about the change of plans. Great use of local knowledge to get the best out of our session - thanks for the effort. I have seen and given many watersport lessons, as a sailing and windsurfing senior instructor, and I was very impressed by Dave and Annabel’s energy and enthusiasm, plus the effort they put in to ensuring that each child in the session got individual coaching and was able to progress to standing in a single session. Even details like learning names (hard) and helping those who were struggling. The only downside is it cost me a fortune as I had to buy a surf board, as a birthday present for my 12yo after the lesson as he was so enthusiastic afterwards! ???? All the best, and see you soon,

Plas Glyn y Weddw

I am lucky enough to come here every week for a Welsh language course. Everything about this place is lovely. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the art and ceramics on display (and for sale) are very tempting; and the cafe serves great coffee and food. Today we had our Christmas lunch, they kindly set us up in one of the exhibition rooms, I’m not normally a fan of commercial Christmas dinners as they tend to be an opportunity to sell poor quality at an inflated price, not so here. The turkey was plentiful and moist, pigs in blankets and stuffing - very tasty - and more than enough vegetables. The after lunch coffe/tea was served with mince pie - can’t normally stand the stuff but this was gorgeous, accompanied by friendly service we all had a lovely lunch thank you Diolch yn fawr iawn, cinio Nadolig blasus iawn

I had some friends over from Spain I was showing them around Pen Llyn and remembered that Nefyn had a maritime museum, so we decided to go and visit. What a lovely little place free entry, clean loo and a café. Very welcoming and helpful staff / volunteers know loads about the exhibits and local area and nothing was too much trouble they put on a video showing the influence of ship building and seafaring in the area that I had not appreciated at all despite living here for over 23 year! Some lovely exhibits and stuff you can try like the weight of the different wooden pulley blocks, life in a tiny cabin, pictures and information all beautifully laid out. Although small it was a delight to go around. The café served a wonderful panad with some of the best bara brith I have ever had, with other snacks and cakes available. You can even use the Llyn Coastal bus service that drops you off and picks you up so you can have a driving free day. Well worth a visit. Thank you

A really excellent gallery exhibiting a range of superb work of local artists. The location stands next to the ancient Criccieth Castle on top of the hill. It is well worth a visit ! The gallery also features an excellent framing service where the staff will advise on what frame to choose to make the best of your painting or photo and that you are respectfully guided to make the most effective and not the most expensive choice.

St. Peter's Church & Shrine of Our Lady of Pen Llyn

St Peter’s is the Parish church of Pwllheli and part of the Church in Wales ministry area of Bro Enlli. Built in 1886 to replace the former parish church it is grade 2 listed. Built by the eminent church architect Aldrich Scott and containing many fascinating historical stained glass windows it’s worth spending some time enjoying the beauty of the building itself. It is also home to the re-opened medieval Shrine of Our Lady of Pen Llyn and houses the important relic of a piece of the Veil worn by the Blessed Virgin Mary at the foot of the cross. This can be viewed by appointment.
