A great attraction although you would need a car or tour to get there. Not cheap especially for the funicular railway and it was extremely hot when we went a crowds of Chinese tourists. However the views are fantastic and it is a very interesting trip.

So much to see and some great walks to be had. We took the boat trip to an island and then to the Tea museum. It was extremely hot and crowded but still enjoyable. Spring or Autumn would be more comfortable.

Tianmu Lake Natural Scenery Park
Be prepared for a very long day with a very large amount of walking on wooden and asphalt walkways, walking up and down hundreds of stairs. Bring a hat, an umbrella and good walking shoes/boots. Food, drinks and places to rest are everywhere, so no need to cart anything with you, save yourself the hassle and buy it all on sight.
Pro's: Scenery is very, very nice. They did a wonderful job in building the walkways, and looking after the trees, bamboo, flowers, bushes, animals and waterways that are everywhere. Ferry ride out to and back from Langking Island was nice. In fact they should have stayed only with the scenery and not added anything else.
Con's: Tacky, tacky & more tacky. A "Seaworld", that is essentially 20 large fish tanks in a basement, a Smurf village with two concrete houses and three concrete Smurfs, a rabbit house with one rabbit in a cage, two concrete balloons, a squirrel enclosure that has two squirrels in it, a butterfly house that is a nice green house, with a mosquito net on the floor holding a dozen butterflies, pay activities for the kids, (zero Health & Safety), tacky souvenir shops everywhere and shops selling drinks and food everywhere. In fact the trails seem to wind everywhere and anywhere, just so they have an excuse to throw up another shop to sell you stuff.
This should just be a place to have a picnic, take a leisurely walk with the family, to enjoy the fresh air and to enjoy the scenery, but they ruined it buy attempting to be a tacky amusement park surrounded by a lake and forest.
Go strictly for the scenery.

Coming from a tropical country, winter activities are totally new to me and my husband. Going to the hot Springs during winter time was definitely one of them. We really enjoyed going through the different pools! There were lots of people but not the type that you wouldn't enjoy. Food in the place was just so-so but the resort allowed us to bring our own liquor. Make sure to locate the hot spring on the 3rd floor of some building. I also recommend you go there around 3-4pm so you catch some sun and then experience it in the night time.

This scenic spot is beautiful little island that requires loads of walking up to the mountain. Will not recommend to visit with young children because there is loads of walking up and down to the mountain.
Choose carefully a warm season for visit because during the winter there is nothing to see.
The butterfly garden and other attractions are not that good, but the nature is worth it.
