A friend was up from the city. When I listed off local places of interest, she choose the Olde Gaol Museum- not a place on my radar and I have lived in the area for many years. I am so glad she made that choice. We had a fascinating afternoon at the museum. Such interesting local history. When you arrive you are given a tour guide who will cater the tour to you- all for 5 bucks! The cells each had different stories and history to study. There is something magical about learning history right in the historical setting. I can't wait to introduce more of my friends to this great little gem of a museum. The only drawback is the tentative hours. I went back afterwards on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall with my nephew only to find it closed with a sign informing us of a number to call.

Sheila and BIll run this place. They are great people. We go to cheep night tuesday or the matinee on Sat/Sun for $7 adult price. Then get the kids combo for $5. That is $12 for everything to see the lasted movies in our own town!
