We have been taking the children to the sea front for many years. They love the skate board park and have worked there way up from little bikes with stabilisers to the bigger bikes, skate boards or scooters they now bring to play on. They used to like the play areas also but are getting too big for most of the toys. It has been lovely this summer as it is mostly very quiet when we go during the week. I know it gets busier in the evening and at weekends so we avoid the busy times.

There's a lot to see and do there. In a very short range around the village you can do wine tasting in a variety of wineries specialising in different types of wines. Agia Mavri winery has received prices for sweet nectar-like wines, Vlasides winery is a modern winery also producing excellent wine. ... In the village there are museums about vines, grapes and wine production, the Byzantine museum... the churches worth visiting too... People are friendly and helpful. You can have your traditional Cyprus coffee at the coffee shops in the plaza under the cool vines. You can taste the Cyprus cusine in the restaurants in the village or it also worths visiting the little church of Agia Mavri and perhaps having a snack or meal in the nearby restaurants.

While visiting the Troodos mountains you can always visit this Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary that dates back to 1731.

This monastery was not on my list but as I was passing it on my way to Trooditissa decided to take a look. And so happy I did! There is almost no information about the monsatery online though it is also a very old one. And to me it was much more special than Trooditissa because you could feel the holy spirit and enjoy the solitude and peaceful atmosphere. Make sure to pop in their little shop, you will definitely find smth for yourself - I brought some olives. And the nuns are indeed very welcoming!

Make sure you go up into the Troodos Mountains to have a look at this amazing site. We had never seen such a beautiful altar of gold, iconography and devotion. The wall art is also very thought provoking with biblical scenes and a genuine sense of calmness...well worth it.

I stayed at the Chimonas Apartments near Pissouri Bay, Paphos, Cyprus. ( Booked through booking.com. ) Large, well equipped 1 bedroom accommodation in a rural setting only a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive through beautiful scenery to the bay. The nearby village has several good restaurants and well stocked mini markets run by friendly locals. This apartment had everything necessary for a relaxed break with a large pool in well - maintained gardens. Close to the main southern coastal A6 motorway, easily accessible from Paphos Airport, a 30 minute drive away. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and did everything necessary to ensure my stay was as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend a visit. 10/10.
