We visited here with some locals. Came early by design on a warm day. There are stone steps leading up the side of a mountain. Were built in 1930's for a mine/quarry at the top. There are "a thousand" steps but actually more in the entire trail. Definitely doable for those that exercise regularly. Will need to stop and rest for those that are not in shape. Would be difficult for those with any difficulties in walking or young ones. There are portions that are steeper than others. At the top there are brief flatter trails to see some overlooks. Is roughly 0.9 miles for the portion of steps only. Would be a great workout for repeat patrons.

We love to come to "Peight's", because they have everything you expect from an old fashioned country store - and more. Whether you need underpants, towels, baskets, candles, wooden dryer racks, rugs, toys, stationary, sewing notions, pots and pans, gifts, baby clothes - they got it! They also carry a nice variety of candy, household supplies, spices and prepackaged items. Their deli is outstanding, and I never leave without buying ham and egg salad.

Nestled in the Heart of Central Pa is one of the state's best wineries. The selection and taste of the wines at this little winery could not be better! The atmosphere of the old Wilson House makes this a place that you must stop at if you are in Central Pa! Every Friday in the summer they have music night a different band every Friday and the wine slushies are great!

If you are in Central Pa, then you must check this museum out! It is chalk full of the local history of Juniata County, and best of all, it is FREE!

Lol......nothing like kicking off the first day of the year with an intense straight up the mountain hike......it's a great work-out whether you hike it, run it, crawl up it......such a sense of accomplishment when you finally reach the overlook, even on a stark winter's day! Just beautiful! This trail is NOT for the faint of heart....its for those who appreciate a good challenge and an intense work-out!!

REALLY GREAT PLACE FOR A BURGER AND BEER. Quality food for the money and well within reason for that! We loved the fresh cut fries. The burgers were good and the wings with a variety of sauces/dips are good. with or without the bone. Service was OK but could improve upon asking if we would like refills on soft drinks without us needing to flag someone down. A large menu of craft beers and local wines with daily specials. Loads of TV's to watch your game. We will return and try sitting outside on the patio for a more quieter experience.
