As practising Catholics, we always try to find Holy Mass while we are travelling in France. Having visited Les Andelys several times, we knew the church in the centre of town (Grand Andely) and popped in to check on Sunday Mass time. We found, to our delight, that there would be Mass in the church in Petit Andely, about 5 minutes' walk from our riverside campsite.Of course, unlike in England, virtually all Catholic churches are old and traditional in style as, indeed, is St Sauveur. However, the (relatively!) young priest was up-to-date and modern in his style and presentation, so we were really blessed in all senses. A tip, in case you don't know already: always check the notices pinned to the door of French churches. You may find that Masses are not as frequent or regular as they are in England.
