Leningrad Oblast (Russian: Ленингра́дская о́бласть, tr. Leningradskaya oblast’, IPA: [lʲɪnʲɪnˈgratskəjə ˈobləsʲtʲ]) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). It was established on August 1, 1927, although it was not until 1946 that the oblast's borders had been mostly settled in their present position. The oblast was named after the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Unlike the city, the oblast retains the name of Leningrad.

“The creation of the Drama Horse Theatre has always been my dream, the embodiment of which I have been engaged all my life.” (Evgenii Tkachuk) The history of the theatre has begun during the students’ years of Evgenii Tkachuk. It is based on the idea of harmony between humans and horses in the united space; the unity of drama and Slavic mythology that gave the name to the theatre – VelesO, in the honour of master of arts and wild nature – god Veles. During several years they had been gaining experience of working together with horses and the way they behaved with people; the first plays were staged “The Little Prince”, “For her sake”, “Steed is the dearest for Cossack”. They had also changed several places of the theater. The number of adherents who believe in the power of arts and free flight of creativity.
