Kokomo Gallery and Studio

The gallery is great and it has a lovely sculpture garden next to it. John Lopez is very talented and you have to see his work in person to really appreciate its intricacies. He’s also done an amazing job rehabbing this space on Main Street. The gallery is free.

One of many stops in the area. Great small SD community. The real North West. Park is a sight to see. Museum is a great step back in time. Absolutely fantastic

Grand River Museum

Reviewed By EsjayA - Minnesota, United States

Due to a road closure in the Cheyenne River reservation, I was told about my options at the gas station in Faith SD. Having all day, we chose to go north under a 'gotta see the museum in Lemon' advise of a local. I did not expect the comparisons of faith vs science, but was not overwhelmed by experiencing a point of view I had only heard about. I enjoyed the displays they had of the origins of the town, the general displays of life for the settlers and was impressed with the dinosaur displays. The movie The Revenant has new meaning for me. The couple tending the museum turned out to be true insiders, with the gentleman being the discoverer of the partial triceratops skull on display. A very good experience!

If you enjoyed the movie The Revenant or other movies about Hugh Glass, this is an historical must see. It is off the beaten path down a dirt road and overlooks the lake. The memorial references the location of the bear attack, the fork of the Grand River. The landscape is different than the movie, no forest, just prairie. An incredible story of survival.
