On another day we went to the lignon hills me and my wife together with her two nieces and nephew and drove our car to the top of the hills after paying 25 pecos for the nieces and nephew and only 10 pecos for me and my wife since we are local residents of Daraga Albay. When we reached the top we could see the lovely view of the whole city and the Mayon Volcano and took several nice pictures and enjoyed the lovely weather and beautiful seen from the top of the hills. We also rested and the restaurants there. Again, me and my wife were very happy that we managed to entertain the two nieces and nephew who came specially from Manila and Mindanao to attend the 18th birthday debut of our daughter in 2nd March 2020. We promised to come back again with a bigger family group.

We went here at noon and it was so hot but the good thing was there were just few people. You can buy sili ice cream and souvenirs there. There's also zipline. Love seeing Mayon from the viewpoint of that area. On the other side of the hill, you can have a bird's eyeview of the city, Legazpi Airport, and Pacific ocean.

A gift of United States of America to Albayanos after World War II. The Liberty Bell is a bronze bell installed in 1945 by the American liberation forces at the Peñaranda Park, in front of Albay Provincial Capitol. It is enclosed with a dome-shaped concrete structure with this inscription, "Whenever oppression knocks at your door, feel free to ring this bell".
The monument is a tribute to the Chinese mestizo general in the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish colonial forces and leader of the expeditionary force to the Bicol Region. Gen. Paua helped raise funds to support the Philippine Republic that General Emilio Aguinaldo installed in 1898.
The development of modern-day Albay was largely the work of Jose Maria Peñaranda, who served from 1834-1843. A distinguished military engineer, he strengthened the province's forts and offshore defenses, built roads and bridges, helped construct buildings and promoted agriculture and industry. Queen Sofia of Spain personally unveiled the new life-size statue of Peñaranda on July 5, 2012.
