Leavenworth Summer Theater

Gilbert & Sullivans Pirates of Penzance has long been one of my favorites, This summer theater production on the Ski Hill was one of the best presentations I’ve ever seen. The costumes were delightful, and the sense of fun (almost slapstick) and the very clever choreography had the audience totally engaged. The woman who sang Mabel had an excellent voice and wonderful comedic timing. Go if you can!

My husband and I had so much fun on our wagon ride learning about the history of the land from our tour guide. We ended the ride with the best apple cider by a cozy fire. We will definitely be visiting again!

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is a USDA licensed farm located less than 1/2 mile from downtown Leavenworth. We provide farm tours for the whole family by appointment only. Come meet our friendly reindeer, feed them and take photos of a magical experience on the farm.

Reviewed By eshaynes - Portland, United States

Make reservations on their website. We got there about 25 minutes early to check in and there were good photo opportunities. After checking in, you can feed the chickens and turkeys, have a refreshment that is provided (cookies and coca), take pictures in/around the barn. When it is your time to go, everyone meets by the fire pit for a lesson on reindeer. After that, your group goes into the pen area with the reindeer. You are given food and the reindeer come up and eat. After that they help you get a picture with one reindeer. Absolutely fantastic time!

We stopped at the Icicle Brewing Company which walking around Leavenworth. The brewery is nice and open to the outside and is perfect for the adults to grab a quick drink and get a quick snack-appetizer for everyone (5 kids in tow). Very helpful staff and very open brewing area as well (able to view into the brewing area from the steps leading to the bathrooms and upstairs). I tried 4 - 4oz samples and they were all great (Pilsner to IPA). I definitely recommend a stop into Icicle brewing (named after the creek that runs through town).

Silvara Cellars

Handcrafted small-batch wine infused with the pioneering spirit of the Pacific Northwest. We source our fruit from some of the finest vineyards in Washington State and utilize traditional winemaking techniques to craft limited batches of exquisite wines. The result is a collection of wines with distinct flavor profiles that honor the true depth and diversity of the dynamic places in which they were grown. Because our wine is produced in limited batches, our distribution is limited. Our wines can be enjoyed directly at our hilltop tasting room just outside of Leavenworth, WA.

We come to Leavenworth every December and have always said as we drove by “that place looks fun” with all the traffic coming in to town we decided to head out. We pulled in here and enjoyed great wine, a cozy fireplace and a wonderful entertainer. A great place to relax and enjoy the snowy beauty.

Icicle Gorge

Reviewed By TravelBugSagar - Redmond, United States

This was an awesome experience for me, my wife and 2 kids. It has a simple 4 mile trek with breathtaking views of the icicle gorge, with enough places for that perfect photograph. Some of the sights will be one of the best you will ever see, we went into the water and it was so refreshing that we didnt feel tired. My 7 year old did the trek with ease, do not take prams you will repent. Pet friendly trek, I saw several families with their dogs doing the trek. There is an associated view trail which is a moderately difficult trek off of the river trail which has great views too. Make sure you have $5 with you to drop the parking fee for each vehicle you get. The dropbox is at the start of the treck. To reach the trailhead from Leavenworth, take the road next to 76 gas pump, it was well laid out road for the first 12-13 miles and the last 3 miles is a gravel/forest road till the trailhead! The parking has around 30-40 spots in the parking lot.

We loved that the park had room for sporting events, BMX style bike track, skate board area and walking trails. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. Parking was pretty good. Our only concerned was the lack of social distancing or facial covering, but that is no fault of the park.

Lake Wenatchee State Park

Reviewed By lakshminp2020

When we went, there was a lot of snow around the lake and on the mountains, making the view exceptional. The only thing I would have liked is a little more kid-friendly sledding and tubing area. The one that is currently offered is too steep and is being used by kids and adults as well and did not feel safe to let my kid sled.
