Finally we made it here. We have been wanting to visit this winery for some time. It was worth the drive. All of the wines that I tried were absolutely amazing. I prefer the dry wines and they were all good. I liked the Sirius Red(dry Malbec with grapes from Chili) This winery is a small winery, but they have a lot of wines available, including a couple of Meads as well. They do serve beer for those who do not like wine. The wine owners were very nice. Josh, knew his wine and would explain about each of the wines that we tried. He did provide us with a history lesson when I asked about growing grapes in the mountains. He said nothing would grow here, we collect all of our grapes, he said "Vin De Matrix" stands for "Gathering of Grapes" I found that to be the most unique name for a winery. We want to come back in the summer when the weather is better. Plus by then we will have ran out of wine. I'd recommend making your journey to this winery. It's a good one.

We decided to visit the winery while staying at Seven Springs. We have been there before. The winery is situated in a berry farm and ???? an apple orchard. There is seating in the apple orchard and also an amphitheater for entertainment. There is a nice variety of wine. They have a gift shop and bakery on site. Obviously, the pies are baked freshly. You can order them by the slice and topped with ice cream. If you like wine and are in the area, it is definitely worth stopping by.

Ligonier Country Market

Western PA's largest and oldest produce only market. About 130 vendors weekly set up from 8-noon every Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through the first Saturday in October. Vendors are equally distributed between fresh produce, fruit, poultry, meats, bedding plants and perennials. Many of our farmers sell heirloom varieties of tomatoes and other vegetables. Most employ organic methods of farming.

LOVE this market! Plenty of bakery items to sample and buy, plenty of plants and flowers and bouquets to take home. Soaps, gifts, fresh produce, etc. etc.etc. Super friendly people and great low prices. Wish it wasn't so far away or I'd go every week!

B&L Wine Cellars

B & L Wine Cellars is a small urban winery featuring wines made from Pennsylvania grapes and some fruit from other areas. We have live music every Sunday.

Reviewed By Tina56403 - Johnstown, United States

I have visited B&L Wine Cellar on several occasions. The wine is awesome and the owners and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a nice selection of inexpensive wines from PA. I also like that they offer wines that are special to the area. For example, during Thunder in the Valley they offered a special wine for that event. I am currently working on hosting an event here for about 30 to 40 people. In addition to the Wine Tasting they will be providing cheese platters. If you get the chance to visit this winery I would add it to your lsit.
