What to do and see in Las Vegas, United States: The Best Places and Tips

April 11, 2018 Oliva Fomby

Whether you’re a high roller or a low-key lounger, Las Vegas has something to suit your vacation taste. Sample fare from top chefs and cornucopian buffets, try your luck at one of the world’s premier casinos, or take in a spectacular show. Just wandering the Strip is enough to get your heart pumping. Once you’ve had enough of the razzle-dazzle, wave hello to the toothy sea life at the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef, hike Red Rock Canyon, or visit the Neon Museum, where old signs take on new life.

Also here I have to say that’s nothing special. So don’t know why tourists are so attracted. If you want to see great nature you have to take a car and visit the Grand Canyon.

The flower garden is of real flowers(Japanese concept) with 65000 flowers, 14000 sq ft high, truey marvellous

High Roller

Measuring 520 feet in diameter, the High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. Facing north and south parallel to Las Vegas Boulevard, the wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one full revolution and features 28 glass-enclosed cabins with broad views of Las Vegas and the Strip. Each spherical cabin can hold up to 40 people, with benches on either side of the cabin and plenty of floor space in between-but we imagine you'll want to stand and admire the view. Sight-seeing isn't all that the High Roller has to offer. Take in the best views of Las Vegas from inside a High Roller Happy Half Hour cabin. Your ticket includes one 30-minute ride and an open bar inside the cabin! Allow your body and mind to soar 550 feet in the sky above the Las Vegas Strip in a unique and personalized yoga session with a professional instructor. Or experience a one-of-a-kind sky high chocolate tasting experience paired with your choice of wine!

I've done the High Roller in the day and night, both have their highlights but I preferred the day one best because you could see so much more. The price is relatively cheap compared to most excursions in Vegas, no big lines and generally friendly other tourists in the line with you anyway. You're not pushed to do the green screen photos so can by-pass that if you want. The pod is large and stable, you barely feel it moving apart from the odd occasion it might stop for a minute then continue. You can stand or sit, the pod is designed for you to move around to see all the views but there are some seats for you to take a break if need be.

The night view is of course astounding for all the lights, simply beautiful ... but that's pretty much all you see. If you came in on a night flight you wouldn't need to see it again.

Cheaper than a helicopter ride, with amazing views, don't miss it. I'd choose this over the Stratosphere any day.

The Strip

Reviewed By Philip A - Nuneaton, United Kingdom

There is no other way to describe Vegas it is everything and more. Every part of it is exciting, bold brash and very expensive. Lots of shows, choose carefully. There’s a volcano that erupts outside Mirage Hotel there are spectacular water display outside Ballagio there are amazing chandeliers in Cosmopolitan. You have one of the biggest big wheels in the world, the Eiffel Tower, Venetian waterways with gondolas (very overpriced) and flamingoes in the flamingo. The MGM grand is what it’s name says and Ceasers Palace is what you would expect. In Mirage where we stayed you have two big shows,a volcanoes that erupts a dolphinarium and a zoo, not discounting a pool so big it has six life guards. Big, brash, exciting and spectacular, it makes Piccadilly Circus look very tame. Don’t forget while you are there a trip to the Grand Canyon is a must. Take lots of money and enjoy a trip of a life time.

We just went down to Fremont street again and had a blast from the free concerts, to all the crazy people (LOL) the food is also very good and very fair prices. The bars are half of what the strip charges. The Zip line is also a blast.

Video at the beginning set the tone for the tour and gave us an immediate appreciation for everything we were looking at, I did not realize Wayne Newton was such a philanthropist and collector. I enjoyed today so much I might go back again with my family, I know they would love it too- thank you for making my birthday feel special

We decided that the outlet mall was way too boring so drove over here to have a look. Found there is 2 free tours everyday so managed to get on the 1.30pm one. Jim the tour guide was very informative and knew Carrol Shelby personally. Took us down the collection telling us all about the cars then into the workshop where they are modified or built. If you are into cars its a must do.

Wynn Las Vegas Casino

The Wynn was my favorite place to go- not anymore! Do not bother with getting the Wynn card! In 18 years of travels to Vegas 2 times a year- they gave me 2 night comp only once! Not worth it! The pool is the only good thing! I was just in Vegas last week and told my crew I was not going and they agreed! Will never step foot in there again. Other cards give you up to 3 or 4 Comp nights with free play and food credit. Not this place- stay away!
