I love this library because it reminds me of the Carnegie Library in Gloversville, New York where I grew up. There is reading room with books with western and New Mexico themes. This is a very special place. If I go to Las Vegas, it is usually on weekends. So, I wish they would expand their weekend hours.

We've been watching this property for 15 years and are thrilled at its resurrection. Excellent food and beverages in the bar. Sean at the front desk *really* made our evening: showing us authentic artifacts, describing restoration, discussing history of town and railroad, and making us feel welcome and included in his town. Bravo, Sean; we'll be back!

Be sure to stop in at the Las Vegas C of C and inquire about the current exciting renovation and forthcoming reopening of the Famous Fred Harvey Hotel Castaneda adjacent to the Amtrak Railroad Station. The Fred Harvey chain of amazing hotels near historic passenger rail lines along likewise historic Rt. 66 that remain and are being renovated and reopened after 70 years of abandon is a wonderful testament to said developers and towns like Winslow, AZ and Las Vegas, NM Also, inquire about the likewise historic and wonder Plaza Hotel in West Las Vegas, and hopefully the same future for the amazing nearby Hotel Montezuma!!.
