Christopher Columbus' house is now a history museum, displaying several of his belongings, including his drawings, journals and a portrait.
For history buffs this is a must see. The travels of the Nina,Pinta, and Santa Maria are all on display with replicas of the boats and a life-size replica of a cabin so you can imagine what it was like to travel back then and explore new worlds. Fascinating history with photos, provision lists, artifacts and more

Visited on a day when the weather forecast was rainy without high expectations but was amazed by the diversity and quality of the interactive displays. These were as good if not better than I have seen in many big cities with a bonus of there not being big crowds so you have a go at most things without queuing. There were lots of hands on large scale classic physics apparatus plus some thrilling virtual reality experiences. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly with many speaking English. Most of the exhibits had English language descriptions. The top floor had interesting displays from the local university about their research particularly in relation to the marine environment and broader environmental issues. Overall excellent value for money

This unique garden erected on the side of a ravine has examples of every kind of vegetation found on the Canaries.
Short bus ride from Las Palmas, the driver told us where to get off. We entered via the upper (free) entrance and made our way down steep paths towards the lower entrance. there is an amazing variety of plants, trees (including numerous Dragon trees) and cacti (over a third of the world's known cacti). The gardens are well maintained with clean toilets, a restaurant near the upper entrance and were peaceful, not many visitors in February. We would certainly go back if we visited Gran Canaria again.

Street with upscale shopping
Anything you want is probably here, there are many restaurants along the way and no cars so walking is easy and leisurely. Lots of local shops. Try cafe SOL for coffee. Nice service and presentation and a good energy boost along the way. Very fair prices.

Across the road from the commercial shopping area of Las Palmas, this compact town is full of historical buildings with beautiful architectures - Casa de Colon mansion, Santa Ana cathedral, town hall, museums and galleries. Meander around the cobbles streets then take a moment to absorb and enjoy the atmosphere in one of the plenty outdoor terraces.

Big and beautiful park, good for nice and romantic walk, it has a small lake, where you can see waterfall, big fish and even swans! It's worth going all the way up - very nice view-point. And there are small green parrots flying around)))
