Mad Hatter Antique Mall

Reviewed By WyldFyreEast - Portland, United States

We were road tripping through Pennsylvania on our way home to Maine and decided to do an "antiques nearby" search when we needed to stop and stretch our legs on the google map. We found this area and antique mall because of it. So. Many. Things. OMG You could spend hours just looking around this one spot, but it was 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday and other Antique locales in the area were open anywhere from 4:00 to 6:00 o'clock that evening so we had to budget our time. That being said we were super happy with our finds! I found some Moxie memorabilia (totally a Maine thing), a vintage jacket and hat, my other half found some retro kitchen containers - these are just the things we actually left with. There was a whole lot more 'window shopping" that was done - thank you for limited space rental car. One of the best things about visiting sprawling multi-vendor places like this is seeing the broad spectrum of pricing people put on the same things whether for quality, quantity/supply and demand and often being able to dicker for pricing on items. The staff were all super helpful offering to start a pile for us in the front, which we didn't take them up on, because empty hands means they get filled again LOL. I counted no less than five people who all greeted us throughout our visit, chatted for a bit and offered to relieve us of our finds. We were there 2.5 hours and that was a rush job... There were maps in the front for other Antique shops in the area with the times and days they were open which was awesome as it helped us plan what other places we had time to make it to in our brief visit. We didn't catch anyones names while we were walking around, but we had a great time dancing and singing to your tunes and shopping around. Already planning to take a long weekend soon and go back for a visit so we have more time to spend poking around.

Stoudt's Black Angus Antique Mall

As a confirmed antiquer , this is a great place to spend a Sunday. There's something for all collectors - in my case a great 18th century mahogany love seat for the "she shed " . Don't forget lunch in the restaurant and a sample of the microbrews.

Stoudtburg Village

Stoudtburg Village is primarily a residential hamlet that is reminiscent of a village in Germany. We have a few individually owned specialty shops, and a café that serves food and alcohol. The Village is always open for strolling our walkways and admiring the unique architecture and lovely gardens. You can also sit and relax in the plaza while listening to the sounds of the water splashing in the fountain. At the top of the fountain sits a cherub, affectionately known to villagers as "Peaches." We will let you figure out why :). Picture taking is a common occurrence in Stoudtburg Village. We often have wedding parties taking advantage of this beautiful location for pictures of their special day. So come and enjoy this unusual setting...take a stroll, sit and chat awhile, stay as long as you like!
