Fairhaven Lake is one of the borough's most popular attractions. Nestled between Lytham and St Anne's, a salt water lake, positioned directly on the coast next to Granny's Bay and Stanner Bank. Enjoy the many recreational facilities provided, motorboat, canoe and rowing boat hire. For the less adventurous there is an electrically powered motor launch, enjoy the cruise and enjoy the scenery from the launch on a 10-15 min cruise. Lakeside facilities include a cafe and the RSPB Discovery Centre. The lake is one of the most important wildfowl locations in Europe, with a group of more than 250 Canada Geese, several Swans (including a solitary Black one) and many coots, water hens and other smaller fowl.
Oh wow what an amazing place ???? it's not too big so you can walk all the way around if you are not big walkers like us. The kids can play on the playground on the way, plenty of benches dotted around everywhere so you can enjoy socially distance picnic with the family looking at the gorgeous scenery (so peaceful) and end your day with lovely ice cream!???????? if you are long walkers then you can walk all the way to the beach ⛱ ???? definitely worth a visit ???? new favourite place. I'm in love ????????????????????????????

Have cruised this canal a few times now, twice with The Duck Island Boat Company. First time 6 years ago was aboard Picollo, a luxurious widebeam boat for 2. Second time was on Legato, again luxurious but this time a narrowboat that accomodated ourselves, friends and our wee dog Jack. Eamonn and Elaine are a lovely couple who welcome you and see you on your way safely. The canal is lovely, Garstang to Tewitfield is our favourite stretch. So much beauty, so many lovely places, lovely friendly welcome everywhere and lovely restaurants all over the place...so much food and too few days to try it all! I would highly recommend this laidback holiday to everyone and would most definitely recommend Eamonn and Elains Duck Island Boat Company as they are the best we have been on! (and thats been a fair few over the years). Go for it folks, you won't regret it!

We enjoyed a lovely walk around this reservoir on Sunday morning, beautiful area. We spent 1 - 2 hours here. The car park was nearly full when we arrived (9.15 am). Parking was free. Would recommend.

Nice walk at the bottom of Avenham/ Miller parks just out of the city centre, accessed from Winkley Square via Avenham Park, go down the very steep path to the river at the bottom where you can walk either way west to either the old bridge and do a circular walk crossing over the bridge and walking to the old tram bridge and back along the riverside path or you can walk down the old tram road away from the river and back, a nice stroll on a sunny day. The old tram road can be accessed from WaltonPark and you can walk down the old tram road to the river and do the walk along from that direction.

Perfect place to just decompress for a few hours, paths are well layed out and signposted although a few signs are in need of repair, no shortage of hides so you are bound to find one to have to yourself, plenty of places just perfect for a picnic, car park has fresh tarmac so no potholes and at only two pound to park its great value for money, one tip i would give is take a photo of your parking ticket on display in your car as there are a few comments on here about people paying for parking and then being sent a fine for not paying, private parking company, say no more, they are all a bunch of rouges. Will definitely be coming back for many years to come.

Had an email giving us the option of a refund due to the camping field being hit hard by the storm midweek but decided to chance it, I have a pennine pathfinder which I’d have struggled to get on with my car. Was not a problem as the owner and his dad got a huge tractor and towed it on to a pretty decent pitch, food was decent with the facilities being very clean thanks to a chap called Dave. Had a BBQ with music, family, beer and a fire pit with the views below, my daughter and nephew met some new friends and played rounders, flew the kite, played boules, cards and dominoes before roasting marshmallows on the fire pit, I’m not a fisherman but the ponds are beautiful with people stopping what they are doing to talk to you. The only negative is the bar and cafe have gone a little expensive from my last visit but it didn’t define the experience, hope you do something for Halloween as I defo want to come up for one more trip this year.
