Ireland's highest peak.
Recommended decent using the ZigZag route in Cnoc Na Toinne as Devils Ladder is a tough climb never mind decent. Overall incredible hike with great views from the top.

If you go to Killarney a cruise on lough Leanne is a must. The captain is very knowledgeable and is eager to share his stories. Spotting the eagles is a bonus

The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Prior to heading to Killarney for our Staycation I contacted Killarney Falconry & got a very prompt reply from Geoffrey detailing the experience & the prices... as I wanteed to be certain of doing this & you can never guarantee Irish weather we didn't book until we were on the ground, so to speak. The Weds forecast seemed the best so we booked and met John in a hotel carpark. We followed him to some woods down a very long lane & at last arrived at the destination - a wooded copse of trees. We then met Meeko the Harris hawk & each of us got multiple turns at having him fly to the gaunlet to feed. During the experience John entertained us with lots of info about falconry including the many terms that have migrated into the English language. And just when we though it was all over we got back to John's van and three fabulous owls were produced... each of us got a nuzzling owl on our gloved hand.. who knew these beautiful birds were so affectionate? It was the perfect end to one of the highlights of my existence....

Blend your own Irish Whiskey, draw whiskey straight from our authentic oak cask, learn how Irish whiskey pairs perfectly with farmhouse cheese or artisan chocolate. We will take you on a journey through the wonderful world of Ireland’s native spirit – from its alluring history, production methods and renaissance. 10 Masterclasses Daily!
Really enjoyed the whiskey and chocolate pairing class. Staff were friendly and willing to answer any questions. The whiskeys included were a nice spectrum, pairing them with locally made chocolates was a nice touch. Reasonable priced for what is offered in the class. The only thing I could say that could be improved is the area where it is done is not as private. But I will definitely recommend it to friends visiting Killarney and will be back myself to try even more whiskeys

We started our journey of by parking at Cronin's Yard for 2 euros and excitedly started our hike up Ireland's highest mountain. I will say that it is a long hike and certainly proper hiking boots and kit essentials are recommended as the weather wasn't the greatest for our hike. But don't let this put you off, if you have the hiking gear and experience behind you, this is a brilliant hike. Trails are easy enough to follow and you'll be sure to have hikers in front or coming along behind you but it is not busy. The walk to the bottom of the Devil's Ladder is a great way to get the legs moving before a tough ascent and when up out of the Devil's Ladder it's up to the right and towards the peak. We descended down the Devil's Ladder and returned back to our car feeling exhilarated. We did have sore legs the next day but well worth it

Falconry Kerry provides you with an opportunity to take part in “the sport of kings”. Here you can fly your own hawk in our meadows with the assistance of a trained falconer. Not to mention the beautiful owls you will meet. (they make the most original photobombers!) The hawk walk lasts about one hour and pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
When we booked a family falconry experience, we knew that we'd be at the mercy of the weather (Ireland in November). The night before our appointment, the forecast was clear: lots of sustained rain. While this prevented us from having the full falconry experience, Liam introduced me, my wife, and our three kids to four of his amazing birds (Arran, Fred, Pooka, and Leah) who were beautiful and charming hosts. Liam told us about his journey to becoming a falconer and taught us about his birds. When our visit was over after well over a half an hour, he tried to not charge us since we were relegated to a shed. Obviously, we disagreed. The money we forced upon him was nothing in the context of this amazing experience.

We have made the decision to close Muckross House, Craft Centre & Garden Restaurant until March 29th in order to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus. We have a social responsibility to our staff, families & customers to do what is right. Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you when this temporary setback passes. Muckross House, Gardens, and Traditional Farms represent the focal point and nucleus of Killarney National Park. This is Ireland's oldest National Park, and it includes the world famous Lakes of Killarney, as well as the mountains and woodlands that surround them. Muckross and Killarney National Park are open daily all year round (expect the Christmas period). Please refer to website for more details on opening times & prices.
Our guided tour of this historic house lasted just over an hour and was extremely well curated by our witty and informative guide Aoife. We gained a real insight into how the Victorian gentry and servants lived their lives. This location truly is a national treasue.

All weather pet farm with indoor and outdoor playgrounds. Lots of baby animals to pet and cuddle.
We visited Kennedy’s pet farm last Saturday and we loved it. My son is 3 and he got real hands on experience with the animals the good and the bad ????. He could rub and feed all the animals with seed we purchased from coffee shop. He tried picking up a goat and got a “gentle” nudge of the goats head which thought him an important lesson on how not to handle animals! The animals are all very well taken care of and foul play is not tolerated. It’s well worth a visit but I’d advise you to bring a lunch as there isn’t much in the way of food.

A scenic house and estate located in the heart of Killarney National Park.
As we were parked over at St Mary's Cathedral, we decided to visit Killarney National Park also as it was a fabulous day. We were able to sit in the Park and then also visited the Tea-rooms where we had an ice-cream. All proceeds of the tea-rooms was being donated to Down Syndrome Ireland. There was so much space and thankfully not many people. I loved seeing the jaunting cars. A lovely time and space for all the family.
