This is a great way to learn history of Arkansas and the south. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The house and outbuildings are being restored. The museum is very interesting.

We found this welcome center as we were driving through Arkansas up Rt. 65 and found it near the intersection of Rt. 159, along the shore of Lake Chicot. There is easy access in to and out of the parking lot and there is plenty of parking for cars and cars & small trucks with trailers. The staff on duty were friendly and helpful. There were a lot of brochures and other information. The restrooms were very clean and well-maintained. It also appeared that the restrooms were kept open after the information center closed. There are several great spots to sit, relax and watch Lake Chicot.
