When people find a great vacation getaway, they keep coming back. This 32-mile-long "Queen of American Lakes" is chock-full of lodging, attractions, eateries and just about any form of recreation you can name. A significant player in American history, Lake George is the site of two great forts, Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga, both open to the public. Before plunging into the myriad activities in this family-friendly town, start off with a relaxing lake cruise to learn about the area. Then, take your pick of recreation: parasailing, fishing, diving, jet skiing, hiking, golfing, minigolf, horseback riding and more. If you've got kids in tow, you can't get away without visiting the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, New York's largest amusement park. Hikers gravitate to the international trail system or Prospect Mountain, which offers panoramic views from the top; for an easier way up, hop on the tram. Among the cleanest and clearest of major U.S. lakes, Lake George is as splendid today as when Thomas Jefferson described it as "...without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw."

VERY reasonably priced. About an hour, start to finish. Jim was a great instructor, telling fabulous Dad jokes! He had the big pieces, which needed to be cut, or ones he had cut already which you just scoop up. He explained that he started offering those for his group of special adults. It makes things more accessible for them. This would also help smaller children. He was a really great guy, and a fantastic family activity, even with two teenagers! There was even an area set up for "fancy" pictures! There was a scent called monkey fart!

Lake George Distilling Company was founded in 2012. We took our love of quality hand crafted spirits and decided to create our own. We take the time to select the best local ingredients from the region and use them to hand craft our spirits in small batches. We hope you will enjoy our products as much as we enjoyed creating them for you.
Stopped in and tried the tasting deal of 3 liquors for 5 dollars and you keep the shot glass! As a bourbon man, I tried the two bourbon offerings and the rye. All were excellent and distinctive. The others I was with tried other offerings (cinnamon whisky and moonshine) and other than the smoke one, enjoyed them all. All varieties are there for purchase at under $30 a bottle. If you want to sample several different liquors, this is your place!

Escape LG owns and operates four themed escape rooms designed to challenge you with codes, clues and ciphers which you must solve to unlock the secret of the room providing visitors to the Adirondacks and the surrounding areas a fast growing and popular alternative to existing amusement and entertainment activities.
My wife and I walked around Lake George today and saw this escape room. We decided to go in and do the horror themed room, “What Happened in Raven Woods?”. We had never done an escape room before and weren’t really sure what to expect. It was just the two of us being guided by “GameMaster” Blake. Blake was awesome and knew exactly when we needed hints. The girl checking us in told us it was only Blake’s second time doing this escape room, but you would never know it. The room we chose was horror themed and the lights were out. Our first task was to find a flashlight located in the first room. My wife didn’t want to do an escape room at first (she thought it was way too expensive being $100 for the both of us), but it’s been on my bucket list for awhile. We both loved the experience and will probably do it again next time with a group of friends. We made it out with 8 seconds to spare (we got a little extra time because our walkie talkie stopped working so they paused the clock while they fixed it). Overall it was a great time and I highly recommend for families and couples.

We always visit the Patriot Museum while in Lake George. No entry fee. The owner is so friendly and always happy to share his knowledge of the pieces which he has collected throughout his life that are on display in the museum. There are artifacts from all around the world with a large collection of American war memorabilia. Some are for sale, and very reasonably priced. Reminds us to reflect and be thankful to all of those who served and safeguarded our freedom. If you bring children in, they will be sure to learn something worthwhile and there are inexpensive toy soldiers for sale. It is on a side street off Canada Street, center of town of Lake George. Very grateful for this little museum.

Lake George Dinner Theatre's 2019 Season Opens July 11th and is the place to go for delightful dining and professional entertainment at the edge of the Adirondacks! Famous for its unique combination of dining and entertainment, the LG Dinner Theatre in Lake George, New York holds the distinction of being the most intimate professional dinner theatre in the entire United States. Our patrons enjoy a delicious full-course meal (choice of 4 entrees), served by a friendly wait staff (no buffet line), and a contemporary comedy -- all in a cozy, relaxed environment, where no seat is more than 30 feet from the stage! Matinees and dinner performances, "show-only" tickets, and senior discounts are available.
I have been many times through the years, and last night was just as enjoyable. I sat with a very nice couple, right at the edge of the stage border, so you really felt a part of the action. I would have to say, their salmon entree is the nicest salmon you can get in this area, such a nice sauce and all the sides were great too, and nice cheesecake for dessert. The servers are attentive (the tip is included in the meal and theatre ticket). I used to bring my 2 sisters every summer as they both have summer birthdays, and at our age you don't need more "Things", so this trip made a good gift. The theatre is intimate, and often a bus will come. especially for the matinees.
