Historic walled garden with themes of art & science, containing the longest rose archway in Scotland over DNA pathway, herbaceous borders, potager, espalier fruit trees, Victorian glasshouse, water feature, labyrinth & unique National Collection of daffodils bred by the owner’s ancestors. Beyond are shade borders, an alpine garden, The Heritage and Education Centre and woodland walk to ruined Covenanter’s Tomb.
Backhouse of Rossie, the place we've come the past few years for their daffodil festival. For obvious reason no festival this year, but they reopened this week, and what a joy the summer garden is! I walked the labyrinth of course, I always seem to be the only one who does, we sat and watched the big carp in the pond while listening to the running water. It is the most peaceful place imaginable. We went round the walled garden twice & it just is a pleasure. Very quiet, being a bit off the tourist track, everyone whizzes past on their way to the coast. The little cafe is up and running, well organised with visors and sanitiser, home grown food, their own wonderful apple juice & excellent coffee. It's the first summer visit for us, it won't be the last.

Lovely clubhouse, well maintained and friendly service from well mannered staff. I haven't dined here but I HAVE been in the kitchen areas and can vouch for the cleanliness. Spotless... oh, and great golf course
