This tour was so so good. Our tour guide Angelo was amazing. He knew everything there was to know and was able to answer any and all questions brought up to him even if they were about things not related to the tour exhibitions. It was worth seeing both the Uffizi and the Accademia. There were no lines to skip due to the covid-19 situation as we took this tour a week before things got shut down but I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to florence as it is not only a tour of the two big galleries but also a small city walking tour.

I was on a cruise with my sister and our first stop was Livorno, then Florence and Pisa. We had no plan but when we were dropped off in the center of town, we saw the tour bus. A friendly Emma encouraged us to join the tour. The best decision we could have made. Emma and Francesco the driver took us to the city. Emma gave us a mini history lesson as well as some helpful advice about making our way around we saw all the memorable sights, took dozens of pictures and ate all around Florence. Emma was so knowledgeable about the area and we used her tips the rest of our vacation. We had the freedom to roam around, and shop, and take photos and we were back at our ship with time to spare! Such a great tour!

I couldn’t put correct date on this review - I did this tour with my two children in August 2019 and originally posted it then. I have had a message to say that I had posted it under the wrong company (one with a very similar name). I would like to re-post the review as we had such a brilliant day with our guide and would like to recommend the tour company to others whenever this type of activity goes ahead again! Our guide Ms Ivanova was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour took in many places around the city and we also visited the Uffizi in the afternoon. I was with my children aged 6 and 9 and both really enjoyed this day. They felt included and learned a lot. The guide met us at the times planned and gave plenty of opportunities for questions and were able to answer any queries. Everything was organised well and went smoothly. We were unable to book a tour inside the Duomo but actually this one which took us all the way around the outside and to other fascinating parts of the city was perfect for my family.

Cinque Terre, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, are made up of five beautiful villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, placed in a corner of Liguria. What an amazing day! It started with truffle hunting with Roberto and his two dogs - Ori and Chloe! We learned a lot about truffle hunting and how the dogs are trained. Chloe was 'in training' and it was fun to see how Roberto used both dogs. They found about 12 truffles in all of various sizes! Then we headed to a small family winery where we ate the fruits of our labor!!! We had a 4 course 'absolutely delicious' meal, tasted a lot of great wines, in addition to olive oil and honey! We even bought a bottle of wine to take with us and watched Sylvia add the DOCG label by hand (which are closely tracked by the region)! We had a great tour guide, Paelo, with us the entire day! He picked us us at our farmhouse, was our translator when needed, was very courteous and informative! I would highly recommend this very unique experience! And I would recommend Tuscany Private Tours. They were very easy to communicate with and very responsive!
On this walking tour you'll explore the pretty city of La Spezia. Home to Italy's largest naval base, the winding streets of its old town are atmospheric and there's plenty of cozy trattorias and little shops showcasing the Ligurian taste at its best. Don't miss the chance to see the Castle of St. George, the picturesque Piazzetta del Bastione and the Cathedral of Cristo Re. Stroll around the narrow and colorful streets of the town and pay a visit to one of its most famous museums, such as Museo Tecnico Navale della Marina Militare (Technical Naval Museum of the Navy), and the Museum of Amedeo Lia. Only five-minutes distant from the Cinque Terre by train, La Spezia will surely amaze you.
Inclusions: private tour
Exclusions: entrance to museums, churches and palaces (in case you decide to visit some of them, you can buy your ticket on the spot), food & drinks
If you want to see the main highlights of all the 5 Villages of the Cinque Terre in one day with a local guide who knows the terrain well, positively opt for this tour. During our time at La Spezia, we experienced the Cinque Terre by sea, road and train and found out that each mode of travel has its own charm and gives you a different perspective of the region. There is a special train that runs from La Spezia to the Cinque Terre which gives visitors the opportunity to access the towns very conveniently. Basically the train traverses 4 of the Cinque Terre more or less in the middle so access to all directions of the towns becomes relatively easier. It's only the town of Corniglia which is a little tricky because it's located on top of a cliff, so either you have to walk up hundreds of steps from the Railway Station to it [if you can manage, it's a nice experience and the vistas you see en route are great] or there's a small round trip shuttle bus to Corniglia from the Station. Our Tour was brilliantly conducted by experienced local guide Laura. She organised the day for us in a way where we could do the most within the timeframe that we had. We learnt of the history of the Cinque Terre and of each individual town, we were shown the best that each town had to offer in terms of sights, views, architecture, monuments, unusual aspects, unique produce, souvenirs, etc. We had time to take a lot of photographs, sample local food, pick up souvenirs, etc. Walking was at our own pace and Laura very enthusiastically answered all our questions. Lunch was at a popular restaurant which Laura recommended in Vernazza, one of the Cinque Terre's most photographed towns. When eating in the Cinque Terre I recommed trying the local anchovies. mussels and wine sourced from the multitude of Cinque Terre's vineyards. With Laura helping us order, every dish was delicious! Travelling by train, though it's very busy during tourist season, offers scenic views and convenience as the trains run with much frequency. One has to normally pay a fee to use Public Toilets at the Cinque Terre, however if you show your train ticket to the toilet attendants, in most cases, you are let in free, especially at the Railway Station toilets. I recommend leaving as early as possible for this Tour as there's much to do and also it's a way to avoid crowds that come in much later. This Tour offers a lot and the guides at Faberest as so knowledgable, that they try to ensure that you travel back to La Spezia satisfied that you've managed to experience the best of the Cinque Terre in a day. ~Felicia Variava Albert, Managing Director, Blaze Tours & Travels Pvt.
