Thanks to a previous review we came for a visit and I have to admit that we enjoyed everything we were able to see and learn. This place is not well known but it should be due the upmost level of information they present here. One learn to know a lot of flora and fauna (close to my heart) of the island, more about volcanic activity etc. One of the best booths were the one giving a 3-D experience of the nature. For families with small children there could be some hands-on exhibits, but still as it is right now it is highly recommended.

I am a nature lover and for me this garden was the prettiest part of Orotava. I went there twice with books, music and lunch and spend hours relaxing and reading. Very well landscaping and beautiful flowers.

Just a short bus ride from Puerto de la Cruz, La Villa is the largest shopping centre in the north of the island. All the major Spanish high street shops, including El Corte Ingles Outlet shop, multi screen cinema and many eating places, including McDonald’s. Alcampo is the large supermarket. There is also free parking.

This church is beautiful and a really excellent find during a day trip to this lovely town. The church itself is well worth a visit, however for a tiny fee you can visit the Treasury either guided or unguided (either way the guide has to unlock the doors for you!) With Natalia as our guide the tour was splendid, she was very knowledgeable and immensely proud (justifiably) of all the displays. Each room had its own treasures and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour, which at €2 each was an absolute bargain!

A life size Nativity scene throughout December, great for families of all ages. Also the site of the famous annual sand display.

Some excellent mature plant specimens, really impressed with the variety of plants growing in the garden. All plants are labelled and are quite impressive. The water garden was very peaceful with waterlilies and other aquatic plants with a backdrop of cascading bougainvillea, palms and mature trees. The entrance fee was a mere 3 euro. Could have stayed there all day.
