Thanks to a previous review we came for a visit and I have to admit that we enjoyed everything we were able to see and learn. This place is not well known but it should be due the upmost level of information they present here. One learn to know a lot of flora and fauna (close to my heart) of the island, more about volcanic activity etc. One of the best booths were the one giving a 3-D experience of the nature. For families with small children there could be some hands-on exhibits, but still as it is right now it is highly recommended.

The personal tour of this museum is friendly and informative. It houses some fantastic collections of artefacts, all given historical context by the enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable tour guide. It gives you a far greater appreciation of La Oratava and the relevance of Catholicism in the area. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this visit, especially as it is the second time we have taken the tour, A drink at the Bar Duquesa makes it a perfect afternoon as you discuss all that you have learnt in the shadow of the church.

If you want to learn more about traditional life in a house like this, you should visit this place. Not a very big museum, but we liked it.

Updated cuisine with a focus on tradition, authentic flavours and quality raw materials are the basis of each of our proposals. A space full of charm located in a historic house of the Villa de La Orotava. In our stoves, Carmen Pérez and the 'alma mater' of a project on the rise, prints that deep-rooted cuisine and tradition that well rewards the palate.
A short walk across the street from Casa de Los Balcones so worthy of a visit with a cool covered courtyard with a bar and cafe. We sat in style welcome relief from the afternoon heat just soaking in the history. On the way back we passed a lovely ice cream shop recommend that too.

All the major Spanish high street shops, including El Corte Ingles Outlet shop, multi screen cinema and many eating places, including McDonald’s. Alcampo is the large supermarket. There is also free parking.
