Dosio Vigneti

Beautiful cellar located in the hills of La Morra, in the heart of Langhe: five hundred meters above sea level, with the view sweeping over the plains of Cuneo as far as the beautiful landscape of the Alps, from the Maritimes to the Monte Rosa. Famous for the production of BAROLO, but also Barbera and Nebbiolo.

Dosio hits all the right notes, and has something for everybody. The wine tasting was varied and impressive - there are many more reds than whites, and one of our party truly favored their rose as well! I couldn't leave without ordering a few cases of their recommended reserve back home! If natural scenery is what you're after, the 12 continuous acres are set on a gently sloped hill, where you can see row after row of the grape vines. We were fortunate enough to stay from morning through the afternoon, and saw the changes in scenery from mysterious and foggy in the morning, to hopeful as the clouds cleared up, to completely majestic as the sun broke through and cleared the clouds. It is amazing to see the snow-capped Alps in the distance. The hosts answered all questions and shared about the vineyard, and the owners were very gracious. A must-see destination if your itinerary takes you anywhere near the Piedmont area!

All of the prior reviews here are spot on. Nice wines and, more importantly, an incredible and indelible sense of welcome and conviviality from Carla, who kindly hosted our tasting and treated us like family. The highlight of our trip, and probably the most enjoyable tasting I have ever had, in Italy or elsewhere.

Absolutely stunning winery with friendly, informative guides and, most importantly, delicious wine! The four course wine pairing lunch was amazing and the winery was one of the most memorable parts of my entire trip to Italy.

Oddero Poderi e Cantine

"Poderi e Cantine Oddero" (Oddero Estate and Winery) is a historic name among Barolo producers. Run for generations by men, it is now in the hands of Mariacristina and Mariavittoria, the daughters of Giacomo Oddero, Barolo patriarch and a man whose fame reaches beyond the Langhe. The company dedicates its full attention to the winemaking process, blending ancient wisdom and modern production techniques with patience and tenacity: from the pruning of the vines to the pressing of the grapes, up to the ageing of selected vintages. Oddero vines grow in some of the best and sunniest sites (known as sôri) on the hills in the Barolo and Barbaresco zones and beyond. Oddero Barolo, Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti: wines of value and finesse, perfect expressions of the Piedmontese terroir.

We had a fantastic experience visiting Cantina Ratti. Our host Julia gave us the best explanation about Barolo wines that we had in our trip in Piemonte. Her knowledge and passion are remarkable. The wines are wonderful. Tradition and quality. Strongly recommended.
