Kuta is administratively a district (kecamatan) and subdistrict/village (kelurahan) in southern Bali, Indonesia. A former fishing village, it was one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourist development, and as a beach resort remains one of Indonesia's major tourist destinations. It is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and many renowned surfers who visit from Australia. It is located near Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport.

I had the opportunity to join the yin sound healing and handstand class with Dewi and it was a blast. She is a great teacher, with so much softness and knowledge. a chanting at the end was the best for ending up the class. The place is so beautiful and already so quiet. Best place ever to do yoga in Kuta.

Lombok´s unique beach based festival. Bau Nyale litearlly means catching the sea worms. Yes really! This rather unusual celebration is practiced once each year by the local Sasak people as it´s the only time these worms surface. It is believed these are not just regular worms, that if respected they will bring prosperity. Alongside the rather unique ritual of worm catching, which incidentally tourists are free to join, there are also local parades, horse racing and music. So if you love the beach and fancy your chances at worm catching, this is your festival!
