The cultural hub of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is visually defined by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, which, at 88 stories high, are the tallest twin buildings in the world and a vision of modern architecture. On the flip side, the Sri Mahamariamman is the oldest Hindu temple in Malaysia, its façade a colorful totem pole of iconography. Shopping at the Central Market is a joyful experience that involves haggling, handicrafts, and happiness.

Food has always been part of our communities. Having multiple ethnicities where you live gives you great chance to be a part of so many celebrations. And with all these celebrations there is always a meal. So you see, us Malaysians take our food very seriously. Food Tour Malaysia Food in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is unique. Some dishes here you will not be able to find in other parts of the country, and if you do, chances are that they probably could trace their roots to these 2 cities. Penang being the only other exception. The daily ritual of eating communally is one of the most endearing of Malaysian experiences. It is warm, and it's at the dinner table where you get to really understand and get the authentic 'feel', the heartbeat of the Malaysian community.

Come and visit Lazat Malaysian Cooking School and bring back an authentic taste of Malaysia! Our hands-on cooking classes are held Monday to Saturday and presented in English by entertaining Malaysian instructors. We are located just outside Kuala Lumpur city centre and our school is furnished with purpose made demonstration tables and individual cooking stations. Each day of the week we teach a different ethnic menu and provide detailed explanations of ingredients and cooking methods. Students individually prepare their own 4-course lunch, usually consisting of an appetizer, main course, side dish and dessert. Malaysian cuisine is a unique fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Baba-Nonya flavors, drawing upon our country's rich history as an historical crossroads for explorers and traders from around the globe. At LaZat our goal is to bring Malaysian cooking to the world by sharing with you our family recipes, which we have savored and perfected over generations.
I absolutely loved this cooking class. We got a transfer from our hotel in KL in a very comfortable mink bus (which I recommend) and were taken to the market. The market tour was very interesting and we ate delicious roti canai, as well as saw it being made. The cooking class itself is excellent value. We did the Malaysian classic. The ladies who run the place are so friendly and spent time chatting to us about the country, giving us recommendations and were incredibly hospitable. We cooked in the most incredible setting and were even given cold towels to keep us cool. This class is well worth every penny and I highly recommend it. You even get a recipe book to take home.

Swasana Spa provides a selection of seven body massages in the form of Balinese, Thai and Malay traditional treatments. All massages are conceptualized to provide guests with the perfect indulgence, rejuvenation and pampering. Swasana Spa has been rated as the 5-star facility by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, World Luxury Spa Award winner and many other awards it has received.
The Swasana Spa features in several lists of the top spas in KL, and you can find details of the treatments they offer on the Impiana Hotel website. Easily accessible within KLCC, and from the Pavilion-KLCC walkway, this spa is a real treat for the senses. I had a Cinnamon Package, which cost RM580 and included an hour long massage and an hour long facial. After a long flight, it really helped to ease tired muscles and restore equilibrium. The staff are friendly and professional and I would highly recommend a visit.

My partner and I were visiting KL and tried out the Urban Retreat Spa for the first time. After our first deep tissue massage, we were so impressed we signed up for the value package and came back again twice in 2 days! We also tried the sports massage and lymphatic detox massage. All our therapists were really good and professional, and have good “forceful” massages. Special mention of Amy at the front desk who was so helpful and patient and guided us through the various options. We highly recommend this gem for relaxing and effective massages.
