The political, scientific, historical, architectural and business center of Russia, Moscow displays the country's contrasts at their most extreme. The ancient and modern are juxtaposed side by side in this city of 10 million. Catch a metro from one of the ornate stations to see Red Square, the Kremlin, the nine domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum, the KGB Museum and other symbols of Moscow's great and terrible past, then lighten up and shop Boulevard Ring or people watch in Pushkin Square.

This square is the site of an underground shopping mall that opened in 1997 and contains four levels of stores carrying furs, jewelry, cigars, clothes and other consumer goods.
One of the best memories during our trip to Moscow is from Manezhnaya Ploshad’ (Манежная Площадь). The square is facing the Four Seasons Hotel. We visited it when there was a celebration of Maslenitsa (Масленица) and we had a lot of fun! Beautiful decorations, yummy stands with different kinds of food (with bliny - crêpes -, churros and more), holiday characters dressed in costumes and entertaining the visitors, demonstrations of old Russian crafts! We spent such a great day there!
