Booked a 3-hour lesson at the shangri-la Dalit Bay course for my wife’s birthday, and she loved it so much we booked an additional couples session a few days later. Greg was absolutely brilliant with us as complete novices, and really tailored his teaching and advice to each individual. He was very encouraging, introducing us to more aspects of the game and even getting us onto the course for a few successful holes. The course itself is beautiful and very well maintained. A lovely way to enjoy Kota Kinabalu!

Marine Ecology Research Centre

Part of the Gaya Island Resort, an excellent idea situated on one of their beaches. Inside the research centre, there are a number of fish tanks which are being used to grow coral. This coral is being planted onto concrete slabs, in an attempt to conserve the reef around the resort. It appears to be working. I only met Scott, one of the two people running the centre. He was very passionate about thye work that they are carrying out.

Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park

Visited 3 of the islands on a day trip from Jesselton Pier. Costed RM 43 for the boat tour and an extra RM 20 for the conservation fee. The water is super clear and beaches are really nice, although a lot of tourists around. I didn't expect to end up in paradise after a 15 minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, so visiting this place was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Gaya Street Sunday Market

Reviewed By yapyy - Singapore, Singapore

Go early if you want to avoid the hot sun. This is a must-go place for tourists, because you can get everything tourists want: souvenirs, key-chains, t-shirt, Tenom Coffee, handicrafts, local foods..... my wife's favourite? Sabah pearls!! Sabah does produce pearls. my wife bought tons of pearl bracelets for all her friends, and she got a good bargain. My favourite is the water melon juice sold in whole-fruit. Since this is a tourist place, bargain is a must (for souvenirs). If you want taste of local food, there are plenty of restaurants here, but those famous one are always crowded. This is a very short street, but If you like shopping, this place can consume half your day. Unfortunately this place only open on Sunday.

After visiting Sapi Island, a 5 minute boat ride to Manukan Island is a dream. Nearly 3 times the size of Sapi, it boasts a stunning flora, fauna and marine life, with a colorful array of fish species to view while snorkeling or diving out at sea, an amazing 1.5km hiking trail through to Sunset Point (not to miss as it’s been said one of the best sunset points in Malaysia), and relaxing accommodation options and food options to choose. Well worth a quick travel from the mainland at only 30 ringgit.

Took a grab. A few interesting exhibits inside and then enjoyed walking around the gardens and heritage village, which was much cooler. We managed to get a few insect bites so bring repellant just in case. Spent two hours in the end before taking another grab to imago for lunch. 60 myr for a family of four (kids are same price as adults for non-Malaysians).

Plus there are a variety of restaurants like Penang Teochew Cendol restaurant, the Chicken Rice Shop, plus KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut etc to choose from to have your lunch or dinner here. There is also the Multi Bake shop and I bought a butter fruit cakes and 2 jars of chicken floss from this shop. I recommend this Suria Sabah shopping mall for your meals and convenience shopping.
