Kongsvinger Fortress is one of the most important sites of cultural heritage in Norway and Hedmark Fylke and it is regarded as on the region’s main attractions. The Fortress was built from 1673 an onwards and it served as an efficient protection foreign soldiers – especially from Sweden. The Fortress was never conquered by enemies of Norway. Today the Fortress is open all year.
It takes one hour and 22 minutes do go by train from Oslo S to this lovelly little norwegian town. The trip is very nice, with a confortable train and astonishing views. This little town is crossed by a river, frozen at this time. Experience a peaceful moment visiting a charming fortress that seems to guard Kongsvinger!

Well worth taking time to visit. You can go into the old buildings - which are clearly marked with their functions and dates. This would be great for children - who can let imaginations run wild! Take the time to look over the river and the town.

This is a very golf course. They have been struggling a little bit which the greens until last year but autumn 2013 was very promising. The new greenskeepers seem to know how to get them in the condition the course deserves, because the layout and the scenery is very good. All holes have their own space so you feel like you're enclosed in the forrest. Most of the par fours and fives are quite demanding even off the yellows, and the hazards are mostly strategically placed. If they keep improving the greens this vill be one of the best courses in Norway. But you must remember that climate and money are not like the top courses further south. All in all its hard to see that you cold do much better all things considered. Looking forward to the 2014 season which starts a record early 17/4!

The National Women's Museum was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Sonja in 1995. The raison d'être of Kvinnemuseet is to collect documentation of the life and work of Norwegian women in our cultural history up to to the present time. In doing so, the Museum hopes to inspire and further a better development in our society, by focusing on the diversity and plight og women in their daily life.
A wonderful perspective on the woman of Vietnam. Especially interesting was their participation in the war effort!

FInnskogene is a rural, woody and remote landscape close to the Swedish border in East Norway (Hedmark county). It's very pretty as you drive on country roads, with a few impressive churches in beautiful settings.

Staff at this TI were very helpful. They let us take our time to sit down and review information. Very familiar with this area, they have helped us twice in doing genealogy research - back beyond the 1600's! We plan to visit again - every few years if possible!
