Knin (pronounced [knîːn]) is a city in the Šibenik-Knin County of Croatia, located in the Dalmatian hinterland near the source of the river Krka, an important traffic junction on the rail and road routes between Zagreb and Split. Knin rose to prominence twice in history, as the capital of both the medieval Kingdom of Croatia and, briefly, of the self-proclaimed Republic of Serbian Krajina from 1991 to 1995.

Krcic River has been protected since 1964. Together with Krka River, it forms a unique hydrographic system with an abundance of hydrographic and morphological karst formations. Over its length of about 10 km from its spring to Topoljski slap waterfall (where it drains into Krka River), Krcic River stands out with its deep and picturesque canyon. The end of the canyon is marked by a lovely flexure of geological layers from the Triassic and Jurassic eras, and interesting denuded relief forms.
It took us all the way from Benkovac, Knin, Krčić waterfalls to Sinj. I have been at Krčić before, but during summer and there was no water. Today was worth travelling over 100 km to see it. A poweefull nature! ????

The remains of Burnum, an ancient Roman military camp, are located in the settlement of Ivosevci, about 19 km far from the Town of Knin in the direction of Kistanje. This archaeological site consists of two units. Following the road from Knin to Zadar on the left hand side two arches are situated. These are probably constituent parts of the main entrance (porticus principia) to the Roman military camp of Burnum, colloquially referred to as Suplja crkva (Hollow church).
