We had a trip to Langtang arranged by Social Tours at the end of March 2021. From the very beginning, Raj was really responsive, informative and the trip was very well planned and well organised. The itinerary was adjusted to our group's needs, great accomodations, and above all, Social Tours has made our group trip (3 families with 6 young children) to explore the beauty of Langtang Valley easier, so fun, and memorable. We were well taken care of during the whole trip thanks to Rabin, our responsible guide as well as our helpful and friendly porters. Recommended by a friend, I would definitely recommend Social Tours to anyone willing to do family trekking. If I may add one thing, to make it more family-friendly, it would be great if Social Tours can provide hiking child carrier available for rent to families who need it.

On the way passes two important historical towns: Kritipur and Chovar. Short hike from Pharping to Champa Devi Hill On reaching Pharping village, we start our stunning walk towards the Champa Devi Hill along the way of Pine forest. It takes about 3 hours to reach to the top, admire the superb natural surrounding along with Hindu shrine and stupa of the hill. Kirtipur, located on a hill to the southwest of central Kathmandu is one of several ancient kingdoms in the Kathmandu Valley that were once independent, but now make up part of greater Kathmandu. Kirtipur is thought to be one of the oldest settlements in the valley. It’s a prime destination to learn about the Newar people, who are one of Nepal’s many distinct ethnic groups and the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley. Come to Kirtipur for exquisite architecture, hilltop temples, and sweeping city views. Wandering around its winding streets feels like walking through a traditional Nepali village, yet Kirtipur offers some of the finest views of sprawling Kathmandu and the hills and mountains beyond. It’s full of cobblestone streets, old brick houses with elaborately carved door and window frames, and multitiered pagodas. Many travelers don’t visit Kirtipur as part of Kathmandu trip, yet it’s worth visiting.
Inclusions: Private transfer, All entrance fees, Newari Lunch, Guide fee

In October 2019 my brother and I had the pleasure to visit Chitwan National Park under the guidance of (Kumar) Lama. After a long bus ride from Kathmandu we were welcomed at the Earth Light Hotel. The had everything we needed, and more! The place was well-maintained, clean, had a swimming pool and the (all inclusive) meals were good. The staff was very polite. During the three days, Lama had prepared a program for us which included various activities such as jungle canoeing, visiting an elephant pharm, a local village an dance show. The absolute highlight was the jungle walk where we encountered a rhinoceros! I would describe Lama as a helpful, professional, sincere and enthusiastic guide. After the three days it felt like we made a friend! We hope Lama and the hotel are doing well and we wish him and his family all the best during these difficult Covid times. Best regards from Amsterdam, Eric.

Home stay in Kathmandu is a unique way to experience Nepalese culture and hospitality by joining a local family. You will be welcome at our home by Nepalese culture (flower garland). Check in to your room and after refreshment, explore around home (the vegetable garden). The house mother will cook the Nepalese meal to the dinner and you can join the cooking.
