The Kansai region (関西地方, Kansai-chihō) or the Kinki region (近畿地方, Kinki-chihō) lies in the southern-central region of Japan's main island Honshū. The region includes the prefectures of Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyōgo and Shiga, sometimes Fukui, Tokushima and Tottori. While the use of the terms "Kansai" and "Kinki" have changed over history, in most modern contexts the use of the two terms is interchangeable. The urban region of Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto (Keihanshin region) is the second-most populated in Japan after the Greater Tokyo Area.

Our guide Haruhi was very nice and told us a lot about specific characterics from Osaka. We tried Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki and Kushikatsu which was all very tasty. She also showed us some secret passages in Osaka and gave us tips where we could spend time Osaka on our next days. The only thing that I was missing was to try out some other foods that are maybe not too known too. But in overall we had a lot of fun!

I went on this tour last year and absolutely loved it! Rodney was a fantastic host and took us to places that I would never have been able to find in a million years. I am 100% going to be doing this again the next time I am in Osaka. What also added to the night was the fact that Rodney took photos throughout the night, at the end of it he even sent is a link to download them all which was ace!

I sampled familiar and unfamiliar dishes but got an opportunity to see some unique restaurants that I wouldn't have stumbled upon on my own. My guide Moe was friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend even if you are experienced with japanese food.

Our guides are top-flight entertainers with native or truly near-native skills in your language, plus Japanese fluency. You're sure to have a great time getting to know the REAL Osaka, and be welcomed as a friend in the establishments we visit and the neighborhoods we stroll. We pride ourselves on quality from guide to food, and can't wait to provide you with an unforgettable night out. Plan on spending about half the time exploring, and half the time eating - a balance we think makes for a great night!

Kevin was awesome. Professional, knowledgeable, and gave us the perfect experience. Easily would’ve taken us 3 days to visit the sites on our own... and we certainly would not have had the context provided from the tour. With COVID a continuing concern, having a vehicle to transport us around instead of hopping on and off a dozen+ trains and busses, was a comforting benefit. Will use this service again when other family comes out to visit Japan in the future.

You and no more than five others will explore the local foods and entertainment districts of Kyoto on a not-so-standard, all-inclusive walking and eating nighttime tour! You'll mingle with locals, eat regional specialties at two different standing bar restaurants (though we often sit down at one or both), and be given a visual feast of a primer on the various nightlife scenes in Kyoto, from geiko (a.k.a. "geisha") on down. With a native or equivalent English speaking guide at your side, you'll get a clear understanding of what the area is all about. And with some great food and a couple of (included) drinks in you, the merriment will be all the more! Our tours are very small group (6 or less), which means much more attention and quality for you. Local insight, great food, and good times await. For those interested in trying some Kobe beef, be sure to choose the option which includes 100g (about 3.5 oz.) of prime Kobe area beef. It's reasonably priced, too!
Inclusions: Dinner, Two Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic Beverages (one in each restaurant), Alcoholic Beverages
Exclusions: Drinks beyond the two included. Additional drinks can be purchased directly from the restaurants if you wish.
