Open everyday until the end of October Half Term 2021. We have one of the most comprehensive collections of owls in Europe, alongside an amazing variety of friendly miniature and rare breed animals. The 'hands on' experience is encouraged. A special parking area is provided for the disabled. A shaded parking area is set aside for dog owners. We recommend you phone ahead to clarify how to locate these. All display areas are accessible by wheelchair. Mobility scooters are available on free loan, booking ahead is advisable.
Located in beautiful Herefordshire countryside the Small Breeds Farm is a perfect place to spend the day. Brilliant for adults and families, there is a great selection of wonderful animals. The centre has a fantastic owl collection which is well laid out with informative signs. The rest of the animals are spread out throughout the farm, there are sheep, goats, llamas, pygmy goats, various other birds, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, chipmunks and a lovely water area with some giant tortoises nearby. It's a lovely relaxing place to enjoy the day particularly if the weather is good. You can feed some of the animals and get up close and personal. Many are free to roam around and are happy to interact with you. There is a cafe on site and a picnic area, so you can bring your own food or buy some home-made delights instead. Brilliant Covid measures are in place and there is a one way system through the park. Staff are really welcoming and helpful. Great value for money and lots of fun too.

Played here yesterday (late October). The weather was so interchangeable rain, wind, sunshine, freezing cold, stormy...and yet that made my experience even better up on those beautiful hills. The views are absolutely magnificent. Presumed it would be no better than Cleeve Hill or Church Stretton but its lightyears better! Due to the height, the course itself handles the extreme weather really well. Lots of sheep dotted around to maintain the fairways etc. The greens were in fantastic shape. The course layout if easy to follow and has some really interesting holes. I shot mid 90s which is about usual for me. Good pro shop. Nice bar, restaurant, friendly staff. Bit tight on parking when its busy though. £25 a round and it was just me up there. What an absolutely pleasure.

I parked at Crabtree Road, went up to Churchill Road toward Stoney Lane walkway, and then past the church to Rigbourne Lane, up to Yeld Lane and then took off toward the left through a style, kept the dogs on a lead for that bit down a public footpath.. but after that, let them off the whole way.. beautiful walks through the forest up toward the ridge.. eventually walked up to the ridge and followed Offas Dyke all the way back toward Rigbourne again and past the gardens. The route is on ViewRanger. During lockdown there is plenty of parking, most of the gardens are closed so.. probably could get away parking there. I almost don't want to tell others because I didn't see a soul but.. honestly check it out especially if you have pooches.

Created over 120 years by four generations of the same family, this 70 acre garden in the heart of the Welsh Marches contains more than 5,000 rare trees and shrubs, as well as holding the National Collections of birches, maples and zelkovas. The gardens will reopen for weekends only from 7 March 2020, then daily from 28 March to 1 November 2020, from 11.30 to 5p.m. Plant sales, gift shop and tea room.
Having read about the gardens in this months RHS magazine we decided to visit with our dogs. The gardens have been lovingly planted with autumn colour in mind with the most amazing collection of trees including Maples, Connifers, Beech, Cornus and hydrangeas - just lovely. Seats thoughtfully placed in sheltered viewpoints to sit and relax in the sunshine. Dog friendly. Very clean toilet facilities and well stocked plant shop - we shall return in the spring.

A volunteer-run local history museum in the market town of Kington, Herefordshire.
The exposition about WW2 field hospital near Bredward Farm (Kington Camp) was fascinating. Friendly volunteers.
