The centre is at the end of the quay, so is in a good location to catch visitors. It is quite quirky in terms of its design. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it offers all the usual visitor information that you would expect, plus some gifts.

Fascinating museum packed with unusual and interesting artifacts. Housed in an old Grammar School which in itself is also interesting, with original "graffiti" scored in the wooden panelling by former schoolboys. There is also a delightful garden with an exhibit of historic agricultural machinery housed under a covered barn. Volunteers lovingly maintain the equipment. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff too! Recommended.
